The only thing which can differ from showroom to showroom in the same city is the insurance quote. You can anyways get the cheapest insurance quote here (if you want to i.e.). Why don't you just call up all the dealers in town and get quotes on the phone and confirm this bit?

it makes up only the difference of 1k i think...its the price difference of 10+k in taxes and ex-showroom prices which is bothering, honestly i am a student and haven't told my parents that i am getting a bike as they cant be reasoned about safety of two wheelers. hence the melodrama.i have a strict budget of 80k max..

GS150 priced 90k? Are you freakin kiddin me? Last time I had checked, it was 68k ex-showroom. Even if we assume 70-odd ex-showroom. OTR shouldn't exceed 80k....do check wjth them once again!

Ah well!!! You had me shocked with the 90k tag!

But frankly, the GS is very much worth the 81k. We (one of my buddies and I) had purchased the GS for 76k-odd OTR Bangalore in April 2012.
Comparison with the RTR180 is not justified - they belong to different classes altogether. RTR is a mean and powerful city rider, GS is a comfortable and calm tourer. Apache will pop your eyes wide open with it's performance in the city, yet it will vibrate your bums crazy on a 90kph speed run. The GS is smooth and relaxed. It won't accelerate like a rocket from traffic signals, and will take a few seconds more than the Apache to reach cruising speed. But once at 100, it will still feel as smooth and refined as 60.

Will leave the final choice to you - better acceleration at the cost of refinement or better refinement and comfort at the cost of acceleration.
