    Default 2005 ZMA (Sold), 2008 R15 (Sold)...So What's Next???

    Hi Guys,

So I am looking forward to buy a new Bike for which I can spend upto 1.10L Onroad (Max). The problem is that non of the bikes available within my budget seems perfect for me.

    i) Pulsar 220 : As far as performance is concerned, P220 is really good and a VFM offering but it is too common in hometown so I don't feel like buying one.

ii) Pulsar 200NS : This is a Great Bike but it has few issues like 1) The Saree Guard is directly bolted on the Swingarm. So, its not safe to ride with a Female Pillion who prefer sitting sideways as she won't be able to rest her feet comfortably. 2) In P200NS Ownership Thread, many owners complained that even if one retains the stock rear mudgurd, the bike still splashes mud during rainy seasons.

iii) Apache RTR 180 ABS/160 (Rear Disc) : Now, I really like this Bike but am not too sure if its gonna suit me(I'm 6.1 ft). BTW, I recently saw an RTR 160 & RTR 180 (both White) parked back to back in a Tvs Showroom and to me RTR 160 looked slightly taller then RTR 180. Is it because the Wheelbase of 160 is shorter then 180?

iv) 2014 ZMA : I think I'll give the new ZMA a miss, though the specsheet says 19 BHP I didn't felt any major difference during test ride.

I'd really appreicate if the members here help me to pick the right Bike for me.

    Thankyou

As far as value for money and power is concerned, P200NS should be your obvious choice.
P220 is ages old and every 2nd person owns one, so its not really exclusive.
Apache RTR is good if you can deal with vibrations.
2014 ZMA looks really ugly(Just my opinion), and you still don't get rear disc brakes.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

As a 2 year old p200ns owner ,I would like to splash some mud ,sorry I mean myths ..
    1. Read foot rest is simple like the r15 ,you can have a flat metal plate welded to swingarm or guard if any elder female pillion wants to ride along .ps I've taken my mom as a pillion for 100kms, no issues .
    2. About mud guard.
That was pre 2013 vehicles ,now New ns'es comes with altered mudgurad position, I.e. more nearer to rear monoshock mudguard.
Splash is almost minimal.nothing to worry about mud upon pillion.
Trust me ,with a budget of just 1.10L ,you can't get anything best than p200ns, plus it'll serve as a proper upgrade from karizma and r15 ,because you'll have almost similar flickability as r15 ,and power well ,talk to all of those (even r15v2) who seems to struggle painfully get to get past ,but sadly they haven't and won't Will .

P200 NS seems to be the best choice considering your budget. Regarding issues, name even a single bike in the industry which doesn't have any. It's upon you to decide if a particular issue is a deal breaker or you can live with it as a owner.

Hi Guys, thanks a lot for replying. I also feel that P200NS is the best option for me. As we all know, the Saree Guard is fixed on the Swingarm so if a Female Pillion rest her heels on the guard, she'll feel every single movement of the Swingarm. So @p200NS owners, how do you manage with those who wear Saree, Salwaar Kameez?

Why are you trying to assume...??
Get a 200ns, get your mom/spouse and go for a quick spin. But please ,do not make unnecessary assumptions.

Also, do you guys think RTR 180/160 will suit me? Some of you may say that if I was okay with 1st Gen R15 then I should be just fine riding an RTR. But the thing is that in the year 2008 I was around 5'10 ft, now am a proper 6'1 ft and everyone says that Apache is for short riders. No matter what I buy, I just don't want to be look like a Demon riding a Tricycle
