Default New Bike for daily commute

    Hi everyone,

I am planning to buy bike which will be used for my daily commute of around 50+Kms. I initially thought of buying Gixxer or FZ S FI Version 2 but I felt comfort of pillion rider will be an issue (even budget is an issue). Now I am confused about which bike to buy. Please help to choose one. Following are my requirements.

    1. Comfortable to ride, even the pillion rider should be comfortable. (both on city and highways)
    2. Low maintenance.
    3. Good mileage.
    4. Budget max of 80k

    I am 6.7" height weighing 60kgs.

    Please suggest few bikes.

    Thanks

    Are you trolling everyone here!

Have you checked out the Suzuki GS 150, Discover 150?
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Go for Suzuki GS150R. Very torquey and smooth engine suitable for city and highway riding. Has a good pillion seat. Extremely well built. Make sure the service centre is competent. Suzuki has problems with servicing in a lot of cities.

Another choice could be Hero Xtreme, if you don't care for its looks. Definitely low maintenance and competent service centres. Decent build. Fuel efficiency may about 50kmpl. GS is more frugal. Pillion seat is good here too. If you are as tall as you say(hope that's not a typo), you should really look into the Hero Impulse. Has good saddle height. No idea on the pillion seat. On highways should be able to do 80-85kmph easily. FE around 45.

The new Honda Unicorn 160 could also suit you well. FE might be a little lower compared to the above bikes (45 maybe?). Reliable, smooth engine and good quality. Same point as Suzuki for servicing here. Other bikes in Honda for you are the Trigger and Honda Unicorn(150).

FZ and Gixxer are slightly sportier in terms of almost everything compared to the above bikes. Performance, FE, seating postion, looks etc.

I would rank the bikes for you in this order: GS150R>Hero Impulse>Unicorn160>Hero Xtreme

Sorry typo error its 5.7" . Yeah I have checked Suzuki GS 150 but I am concerned about availability of service centers in my city (Hyderabad) rest I am fine. I am avoiding Bajaj here so Discover 150 is not a option.

Any idea about Yamaha SZ RR V2????

Given your requirements, few bikes to think about are
CB Unicorn(150) - you might still get one
Yamaha sz rr - already shortlisted by you
    Pulsar 150

FZ is a better buy than SZ-RR though you have to stretch your budget a bit. But the pillion comfort is better in SZ-RR. But both the bikes are very good in terms of comfort, performance and reliability.
And GS150R is seriously a good machine to own. Only concern is spare parts and Suzuki ASS.

It checks all your requirements and have a fresh new looks.
Yamaha SZ-RR is a proven bike and will serve you well.
Take test rides and then choose the one that suits you the best.
