Default Help me to choose a bike for occasional city drives and leisure trips!

    Hi everyone.
I am planning to buy a bike next month.

    1.Budget ~ around 2 lakhs
    2.Height~ 5'10
    3.Weight~ 75
4.Usage~ mostly city, short rides and leisure rides once in a month
    5.Preferences~ continental gt,classic 500,D200,cbr250r

6.Expectations~ What i want is a bike that should not get phased out atleast for 2 years.
It should be always fun to ride and entertaining!
I dont mind if it is not that easy to maneuver in traffic, but it should not hurt my back.
AND i am slightly inclined towards Continental GT

    Thanks in advance!

Why don’t you think of Mahindra Mojo. Which is new to market. It is a great touring machine and fun to ride.

Otherwise Continental GT is a better option. Which has got a classic Caf Racer look which I think will never phase out…

Continental GT will hurt your back. Anyways take a long test ride of the same and then decide. Otherwise you can blindly go for CBR250. Pros are a very refined engine, riding position doesn't hurt your back, vibe free ride, good suspension and Honda reliability.
All the best. Keep us updated

The only let down of mojo is its brand value.

    Uff.
So a city ride of just 25 kms will hurt my back? 😞

Depends buddy. My friend had one and he complained about back pain even after a short ride of 15 minutes. You will have to stretch your hands a bit more and it will put more stress on muscles and back. Get a long test ride first. Check whether it is comfortable for you to ride.

Just that I'm a C-GT owner doesn't mean I'm pushing my point in favour of it & persuading you to buy it. But I've never had back pains. Yes my palms do pain when there's B2B traffic & I want to maneuver the bike & that's purely coz of it's weight. And I've had 2 collegues of mine who have sold their CBR 150 n 250 due to discomfort within the 1st month.

So in a way it's relative... and in a way some ppl take longer to get used to things OR they simply are so used to a particular position like on a splendor/ Activa that anything remotely different causes them discomfort & also sometimes they're reluctance to giving time for adjusting & muscle learning.

You can read a daily user-1yr-10k kms review of the CGT to get a bit more insight.

    Benelli 250?
It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider's nuts, the ride - bolts!

Benelli is best when it comes to ride quality. But the service in kochi (kerala) is by marikar motors and they don't have a very good reputation.
