    Default Upgrade from Pulsar 150

    Hello Guys,

Looking for an upgrade from my Pulsar 150, will use it mainly for office commutes around 30kms in city rarely will go for a highway ride(but have that racing itch back in the head so want to gain experience in motorcycling). I searched for Duke 390 used one but after researching on this forum and other media found that 390 will be good for first 30k kms one way or the other engine reconditioning should be done post that( in most cases which I saw) so reliability is a big question and also I don't like reconditioned engines as I had an experience with my P150 think they are not the same when compared to factory engine and I hate that also I would like to keep and maintain the bike even if I upgrade in future. Finally zeroed down to Yamaha R3(twin cylinder reliable engine) and since bs6 offering will take time so looking for options. Kindly help...

    Namaskara from Bengaluru.

You can check out the FZ25 as well. Good mileage in city, sufficient power for trips and off-roading as well.

Engine doesn't overheat in Bengaluru traffic. Been using my 2017 FZ25, and it has been 40k+ kms without any issues or downtime.

    Other alternatives - Gixxer 250, Ninja 300.

Please test ride the bikes, or better search if it's available for rent for an extensive test ride.

I'd suggest Bajaj P220, NS 200, TVS Apache 200, if you like doggy style seating - R15 V3.

    @soumya_digi namskara
Thanks for the suggestion guys...my friend had fz25, personally love the bike good power and comfort but I just want to go next level to the quarter litre segment...been looking for good used ninja's too but many bhpians suggested that it is very hard to find one and also since all vehicles are moving to bs6 not sure if we can purchase a new one now anytime soon.

If you want Fun, 390 is the way to go. Otherwise, settle down with a 250 Duke, Gixxer 250 or something.

considering your needs there are multiple options that you can choose

    1. Apache RTR 200
    2. bajaj pulsar 220
    3. bajaj pulsar 200
    4. KTM 200's
    5. yamaha FZ25
    6. BMW gs310r
    7. Apache RR310
    8. KTM 390's
    9. dominar
    10. ninja 300
    11. Himalayan
    12. new RE twins

these are just a small list but there are several other makes and models that you might like but after all, i think it's all depends upon your use and interest. as a fellow pulsar owner, I will be choosing Himalayan as my next bike since it will be useful for occasional trips and offroading . and it will also be better to upgrade to a bigger capacity bike rather than shifting to a 200 or 250 cc bike
