    Post A quick introduction!

    Hey there fellas!

I'm an industrial design student from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.

I'm sure everyone who's here is here because they love motorcycles/motorcycling so i'll keep the "i'm so in love with my motorcycle" part aside.

Along with riding, i have keen interest in motorcycle design and i strive to get better at it everyday. Having loved off-road motorsports since the tender age of 4-5, i wanted to become a motocross racer and the passion for the sport grew with me every day. It wasnít a surprise when my dad told me how he just couldnít afford to support me with such a scenario in India where very few people understood this sport. I was heartbroken but I couldnít accept defeat. I looked back and I asked myself, what I really liked and the answer was simple**-it was those magnificent motorcycles that could handle any terrain. It was decided. Motorcycle Design it is. If I canít ride it, Iíll make it.

So X-SPEC Motorcycles was a dream project for me, you guys can check out what i've been upto in the link below (signature section). With so much passion for off-roading, i didnt want to end up doing a scooty or a commuter motorcycle project as part of my diploma to graduate. So to prove myself, i went beyond the sketchbook and started prototyping on the Hero Impulse and tested them in rallies like the 2013 Desert Storm & Dakshin Dare. With a year of research, 2 prototypes and a patent pending for each, i look forward to building the 3rd prototype very soon which would be the final proposal.

If your thinking who funded all this Research & Development, quite surprisingly, i did.
Working extra hours everyday on freelance projects like designing wrist watches, making logos, etc. helped me get the funds. Yeah, health suffered but i was doing what i loved doing and that kept me going.

Hopefully i'll meet more people here who love off-roading as much as i do and can give me feedback on my work and help me improve. I'm not doing any business, nor am i advertising here. X-SPEC Motorcycles is to show my capabilities as a motorcycle design student. Currently i'm compiling my portfolio and looking for internships in motorcycle design firms in India & abroad. I'm also looking or scholarships for further education as my family cannot afford it. So if you guys have any suggestions, do drop in a comment.

Thanks a ton for reading this and i hope to have a great time here at XBhp!

Thank you so much guys! I hope you have seen the protos. Will keep you posted on the progress.

As of now, i'm tryin to get a few sponsors.
One men's magazines (ATB-releasing this Oct i guess) is covering the story but i would love to show this to a motorcycle mag, if it seems worthy enough for a feature.
Its not the reach or popularity i'm looking for through such a feature, but just to get the attention of potential sponsors so that they understand the value of such a project.

Its just going to help me reduce the burden on shoulder. I wont be able to sustain it for long financially.

Hope something works out. But whatever the condition, work continues to happen.
Leaving for the Raid-de-Himalaya for research on the conditions there (for the development of the third & final proto). I will be part of a service team.

If you guys know talented riders who are goin there, do let them know. I would love to interact with them. It would help a lot in my research.

Thanks a ton for the overwhelming response!
    Godspeed xBhp!
