    Default Hello from from Faridabad

    Hello all,
my name is Abhay and i am a 22 year old budding bike enthusiast from Faridabad.

i have been around bikes and fascinated by engines for as far as i can remember. My older cousins had a large part to play in it. The earliest I can remember, they had a Atlas gold line and they would stuff a pillow in the carrier and plop me on it to take me around town on joy rides.

As we grew older, the gold line was traded in for a Hero Hawk followed by a good old Kinetic ZX. The kinetic was a hoot! it was loud, left a smoke screen behind it and was ran into the ground. I am rather sure that the kinetic sparked a love for two stroke engines and my cousins ended up buying a RX100, RD350 and a RX135 in that order.
The RX100 and the RD350 were restored but the RX135 received some extra special love. It had a Ferrari red paint job with fresh chrome everywhere, a plethora of after market and imported parts, rebuilt, jetted and ported engine with an expansion chamber. I never got a chance to ride that thing myself but I vividly remember my first pillion ride where it popped a power wheelie all the way into the second gear. The fact that the breaks were never upgraded and that my tiny pre pubescent heart was beating at million beats a minute scared the crap out of me and turned me away from bikes momentarily but returning back home unscathed had a thrill of its own and made me respect my cousins owing to the fact that they had a set of skills that I did not as well as spark some love for biking at the same time. Sadly, the RX135 met an untimely death when my cousin was trying to filter between traffic and the bike slid out from under him owing to a patch of gravel and was ran over by a bus (my cousin was thrown the other way on to the median unharmed). The RD350 was sold recently.

As far as my own experience on two wheelers is concerned, I have been riding a scooty since 2006 and have 16 years of non geared experience under my belt. It started with a hero winner and moved from one generation of activa’s to another with a Kinetic Nova somewhere in between. As of now, I am working full time and have managed to save a lump sum and want to buy a bike of my own.

I am excited to be a part of a community that revolves around a shared interest as well as to share what little I know and learn all that I can.

    Thank you

Thumbs up Re: Hello from from Faridabad

    Intro Approved.

Welcome Abhay, to Xbhp. Happy to have you here, and nice to know your story... I was born in Ghaziabad, the city near Faridabad.
We all have our special childhood moments, like I too have a memory of standing on the Bajaj Priya scooter's footrest area, as a child, with my dad riding.

2 strokes were love. Of course, with times we all had to part...

Of course, feel free to share pics. Upload them to an external site and link here, OR you can upload as attachments.

Once again, take your time getting used to Xbhp, and make friends, and ride safe and hard.
