Default Old man on a bike

Hi, great site. I discovered you via members commenting on my BLOG with great kindness. I am an old Brit, probably something of a Blimp. I have spent much of the past two years riding a Honda 125 CG down from Mexico to Tierra Del Fuego, then north to New York. Next journey? Is India suitable to a 76-year-old?

    Introduction Approved

First and foremost I would really like to mention that I feel honoured in approving this introduction thread.

Welcome sir, to xBhp. Many of us have read about you and your great ride on your blog, and have been really amazed. I, for one, have been left with absolutely no words. Wonderful, really.

At this age, you have been doing what, perhaps, we have been dreaming to do for years now! This is really phenomenal. I had already gone through that blog of yours atleast three times, and enjoyed the fluent text as well as the wonderfully penned experiences to the fullest. Thanks a ton for sharing all that.

As for India being suitable for a 76 years old, just come down and discover for yourself. It would be sheer pleasure to meet you, for sure.

We all look forward to hearing more from you, not to mention meet you personally when you do visit India. And once again, a very warm welcome to xBhp - you are a part of the family now.

P.S: At 75, you are, officially the oldest xBhpian..

A very warm welcome to xBhp.

Thanks a million for making the likes of me feel like teenagers, both literally and figuratively . I am 41, been riding since I was 20.

What you've done is a rare thing...but even if through some miracle I come across a thousand Simon Gandolfi's...the numbers will not take away even an iota of the admiration your accomplishment awakens in me.

Looking forward to your travel through our amazing country sir. A septuagenarian hard-core motorcyclist shall be a most inspiring sight.
I don't let my motorcycles interfere with my motorcycling...

That's the height of modesty! a very warm welcome and glad to have you around...!! You must have had an amazing experience those two years - It is a regret I can't access the blog from work... will be reading it as soon as I get back home. Heck - we guys go on a ride for a week or a couple of weeks at the most and invariably, it becomes a life changing event. I can't imagine how a two year ride might have been!

Again, welcome and please share your experiences with us!

After seeing you all I can say I am no longer afraid to be old, real old. And after this redefinition of the scale, suddenly Old Fox has been reduced to a mere teenager, and I am still to be born!

It is a great privilege for us to have you here, sir! Welcome to xBhp!

We'd be more humbled if you ride through our country.
All men dream, but not equally. Those that dream at night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act upon their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible. - T. E. Lawrence
