Arrow bike siutable for ME

hi my name is krishna. ive been following these threads for quite some time now.and here i am posting my first thread.
i want to buy a bike for myself for daily commuting to college and for general fitness . my budget is 15k but i can definitely shell out some extra bucks if its really worth it.i am 5ft 6in tall. weighs 85kg.these are the options im looking at.
MTB-definitely a no. im not going to go trekking with this bike. so i think its gonna be of no use if i buy one at all.
ROAD BIKE- well im not sure if i can get one for this budget.but like i said i i can definitely shell out some extra bucks if its really worth it.when i say extra bucks the max is 20k.i live in bangalore. the roads are not so great here.im not sure whether those lean tyres with my heavybody would be able to take the beating.my heart says i should buy a road bike but my head says otherwise
HYBRIDS-i guess this is the most practical option that i have.and i also feel that i will get a good hybrid bikes for my budget.
well it might be confusing to many of you since i have provided you only some rough ideas that i have. i am not so informed about the new age bikes. the last time i ever rode a bike was seven years back and a lot has changed since that.please help me find the best bike i can get according to my needs and budget.
