Tip of the Day

The slower the vehicle, the quicker it can turn

Noticed how pedestrians, cyclists, rickshaws and auto-rickshaws can so suddenly move in right into your path? They move slowly and sudden direction changes are not a problem for them.

    Default Need Cycle maintainence tips

    Hi guys,

Can anyone help with taking care of the basics of a bike maintainence? I currently own a hercules top gear 6spd. I am not much into long distance cycling, but use it mainly for exercise.

Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

I guess just proper lubrication just once a month should do.

Hi, I bought a Hercules roadeo, secondhand from a friend who didn't find it very comfortable, and set it myself after numerous trial and error with help from you tube. At first I took it to a Hercules showroom but they ruined the thing with a managed precision, hence I can not rely on them.
Quite often I ride my bike for more than 50 kilometers a day, as this thing runs really smooth. But the crank has developed a screech-screech noise, which reduces if I pedal with straight legs and increases a bit when mine are not so straight. The noise is from the crank/ bottom bracket area. Is there a known remedy? something I can do at my place? or is it better left with more experienced mechanics? ( I gotta find one)

    1. Lubricate Chains
    2. Check Brake Shoes and Calibrate it
    3. Calibrate the High and Low values of the gear changer.
    4 Check the AIR.
    5.Lubricate gear system
    6.Lubricate gear shifter.
    7.Lubricate Pedals.
