Default My new acquisition

Hey guys its been a while since I've been craving to get my hands on one of these beauties and as ya'll know these wonder's are soon about to be phased out. So even though the price was a little towards the steeper side, with the grand total being at 4.2K, I still managed to save up for it and yesterday finally managed to fullfill my dream. For the time being will be just posting a few pic's but the detailed ownership review's about to pop up any moment.

If its a possible addon then will give it a try. I did'nt opt for gear cycles cause been hearing that they're not upto the mark, when it comes to reliability.

Great buy I must say Ashwin. Apart from saving some money for the petrol, it would also help you keep healthy. It reminded me of my bycycle when I was 14. I rode my dad's Hercules, and then upgraded to Hercules Devil when I was in Class 12 and then to Hero Photn in graduation.

CONGRATS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, these kind of dynamo's are extremely hard to come by and are nowhere near the quality of the old TI Miler, I searched my whole town to get this particular one but it was pointless and most shops recomended the battery operated LED ones, which were a pure waste of money. The current one's have a small variation in design, when we pull op the small lever then it goes up and when we pull it down it comes down, so no need to touch the dynamo. The light output is also faintish and bluish in colour. The name of the company is'nt legibile... Its like 'Sankar' or something.

Anyways now looking for mod's to increase its brightness.

Default About gear system reliablity.

Hi,congo for the ride pleased to see that people ride the village style bike till today and man these cycle are tough in nature my Grandfather still uses his. Now, About the gear system well i have BSA Mach cycle(stock one) onto which i installed the Starlit 5 speed gear system about 7 years back (i.e 2003 somewhere) and haven't got a problem still now apart from ur usual shift wire changes and regular oiling in monsoon has kept it goin such long,i'll suggest u too hav it installed as it reduces ur cycling efforts much and makes ur ride more pleasurable.....
