Old fox sir that was such a thought provoking article, its stirred me up deep down inside. Now my motorcycling is not going to be about one upmanship, I am going to enjoy it as long as life allows me to do so. No more of trying to project myself as better or different and not just in biking that is.

Change is refreshing when it is done for the sake yourself and not for the sake of others...(another thing learned)

Thanks OF for posting this, coz many of us will realize the same thing later, may be only when our hair will turn gray.
Omi: You are already different. Think of another Omi EXACTLY like you and you'll know what I mean. The 'uniqueness' need not be contrived when nature has already made each one of us unique and exclusive already.
Glad to know we walk on the same road and together at that.

thanks a lot for such a nice post..
Thanks for the good words Chetan. Being deluded and remaining so is the biggest pain in our lives. Awake, arise and shine and the world is a joy to live in.

I sure am glad if I could make you 'think' about the prevalent compulsiveness of competition. There is life beyond and away from merely bettering others and its a lot more fun.

Another eye-opener from a person who has more kms.of motorcycling than we have hair on our heads!
Hope such articles are published in more places. It is so sad to see young motorcyclists crippling themselves or even worse losing their lives just for a moment or two of glory, the effects of which can be devastating.

He he....I am just a guy who surfs over ownership and what bike threads. When I see this thread I understand what level of biking experience xbhp teaches and what classic people we have here to teach. Insipte of me saying so much I only understood around 20% of this thread's meaning. I guess I have a long way to go. And am eager to learn. Just waiting for the right time to come. Long live xbhp!!
