Hi Friends
I am a new member of this Biking Community. A friend of mine suggested this site before 2 months and from that day , I am a regular reader of all the travelogues. Inspired by the members of this community, I have planned a long holiday in India. During my Holidays we have planned for a South Indian Trip for 9 Days on Two wheels.

A Friend of mine from Germany will also be joining us, Even though she had been to India Thrice. She wants to explore southern India on Wheels.

The Routes and dates are as follows

Proposed Dates : 23-12-2009 to 01-01-2010

Day – 1

Coimbatore --> Ooty --> Westerncatchment Point -->Ooty
Stay at Ooty

Day – 2

Ooty-->Masinagudi --> Mysore --> Sharavanabelagola --> Hasan.
Stay at Hasan

Day – 3

Hasan -->Halebid -->Belur --> Mullayangiri --> Agumbe
Stay at Agumbe

Day – 4

Agumbe --> Shimoga --> Sagar-->Karwar
Stay at Karwar

Day – 5

Karwar --> Goa

Day 5 & 6 Stay in Goa

Day – 7

Goa -->Gokarna --> Murudeshwara --> Mangalore

Day – 8

Mangalore --> Bekal Fort --> Chalakudi

Day – 9

Chalakudi --> Valparai --> Coimbatore……..

I need ur valuable advices and comments on the above mentioned routes and the following Queries

DAY 3

I heard from few of my friends that the route to Agumbe is endangered by Naxal Movemnets Is It TRUE?

DAY 8

The road conditions between Mangalore and chalakudi and some important places to visit,,,,,,

Above all Safety measures to be taken .

A few information from ur experiences will be of a great help

Mangalore to chalakudi is around 400kms.Is there any special reason to visit chalakudy like Athirappilly-Vazhachal waterfalls?
Route:
Mangalore-Kasaragode-Bekal Fort-Kannur-Thalassery-Badakara-Calicut-Kuttipuram-Edappal-Kunnamkulam-Thrissur-Chalakudy is the Normal Route.NH17 West coast Highway is narrow.

Another thing is ,Chalakudy-Valpara route is Having wildlife especially Elephants.
Chalakudy to Pollachy Along the Anamalayi Forest -The Most Beautiful Route In South India
