Hi XBHPians, I am Tushar from amravati.
With due respects, I want to thank all of the members here, whom suggestions made me to decide on 220. I LOVE MY BIKE!!!! I am usually a silent listener but now due to some problems in my bike i have to speak up. I have some idea although but still i want to ask for suggestions. PROBLEM 1 :: I dont know what to say about this one. It disappeared in the same way as it came---Surprisingly. The whole story goes like this. One day i took my bike for a usual evening ride. That day I found somewhat difficult to handle the bike. So i returned home, put the bike on main stand and closely examined it. I found the problem was in the Handle bar[I don't know precise mechanical terms still i will try to explain it]. It was the case that the handle was not freely moving. At about 30 degrees on both sides it was a little jam. So my direct conclusion was that it may be due to somehow wearing of ball bairings(Which I suppose is present in that handle assembly----God, I am total NOOB about motorcycles). Now it happened almost a week before my exams, so i was not able to take it to showroom and rectify it. I decided to take my bike to showroom after my exam(It was my semester papers). But surprisingly, on the last day of my exam, I noticed that the handle is no more getting jammed and now it is moving like butter. I can feel the sudden increase in handling. So, this PROBLEM disappeared in the same way as it came---putting me to get surprised. SO I WANT TO ASK YOU - SHOULD I GO TO SHOWROOM AND CHECK THE HANDLE ASSEMBLY OR SHOULD I WAIT UNTIL IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN(IF IT DOES)? PROBLEM 2 :: The second problem is quite clear. The front disk is touching the brake pads and making squeaking sound. Now i know it is not a new thing. But for me it is because the disk is not touching the pads in uniform manner. I mean that when on main stand when i rotated the front wheel, it appear that the 2/3rd of the disk circumference is NOT touching it while the rest 1/3rd is touching the pads. So it is making squeaking sound. So, I came to the conclusion that THE DISK IS OR MAY BE SLIGHTLY BENT OR TILTED. I am going to the showroom the day after tomorrow. So please suggest me what to do on this issues. I know this are not big one, but where else should i ask for the opinions!!!

Firstly get the handle jam thing from the SVC anyways ..even though it is not happening...wat have u got to lose....it will be just better if a mech has a look at it and confirms no prblm with it....u dont want it happening again at the wrong time and place and be stuck der....
Secondly the disc wont be bent but probably the clips are misaligned due to which there might be friction only at certain angles and not at others.....u will have to get it aligned ...but havnt u faced a loss in front braking due to this?? when i faced this prblm with my old pulsar ma front disc went from like 100% to 20-30% effective....

1. Get it checked it from Service Center
2. This is a long shot, but you can check this as it happened to me. I too had squeaking noise from front. All the time I thought it was from the disc brake. Just like you, I put it on stand and turn the wheels. The squeaking sound defenitely seems to be coming from the disc. Turns out the sound was coming from the speedo cable that is attached to the front wheel. got it changed, problem gone. Just remove cable as see if noise persists. BTW my bike is ZMA so problem may not be the same. |

I will get my handle checked by svc guys(actually I was also thinking the same). also I am not facing any (considerable) loss in braking power. They are good, just it is the case that at times when at lower speed (5 to 10 km/h) one can hear that squeaking sound. So I was little worried. Quote:
@kaynmantis Thanx, your suggestion was something different. So I will check for what you said. |
