It depends upon your riding style. if you ride sedantly without much ripping your mileage should not drop or might drop a fraction say 1km. but if you ripping it from the word go you will get a difference of about 5-7kms.
but again after installing free flow filter you are tempted to rip your bike by the filter noise. So better watch out.
i too have a K&N filter but i ride both ways sometimes sedantly and sometimes ripping it.

Installing K&N will not affect the FE, as mentioned above by Rakowli its all depends upon your riding style. K&N will change the exhaust music and to show Off we intend to Rip the bike which will result is drop of FE.
A normal ride does not affect any FE, I mean just ride how you use to with the stock Air Filter.

FE will be affected if you do upjetting (remember you are increasing the fuel flow). Expect a drop of around 5 kmpl at least.

hey i haven't don't the upjetting on my crab i just tuned it for little more fuel but still i never found much of a difference in mileage. and becoz of my riding style it always varies from 45 to 50kmpl. but i have no problem.
Recently i got a mileage of 52kmpl. i myself was suprised to see that so i am checking again. i calculate on reserve to reserve method. As i don't like to fill the petrol tank fully. this makes the bike a bit heavy and also i keep my bike parked on road when at work so chances on stealing the petrol are more. even if i get 45+ i am happy with it.

One more thing it is more difficult to find a bigger and exact jet size for a bike. i did was removed the jet, cleaned it, and with the help of a drilling pin just drilled it a bit by inserting the drill pin thru the jet and sharpening the interior of the jet. Cleaned the jet once again and back into crab and did a tuning.
