hey bro,
running the bike on top speeds on a ong distance journey does not cause to drop the average. Coz i had gone to goa on mu pulsar 150ks and it gv me an average of 45 - 50kmpl wherein we were speeding between 70-95 kms per hour. i guess u chk the carburetor, get it cleaned and tune the bike from a local trusted mechanic as somtimes the showroom guys can be useless, as they dont want to help the customer by goin a mile. instead they jus want to do their routine work and jus shoo u off their backs. try and soak the air filter in oil and then use it. also chk the spark plug. also chk the idling of the bike on standby mode. if too much idling is there, then reduce it, the setting should be around 1000 rpm (experts please confirm this), also try and change (if possible) the clutch and acceleration wires. also could u confirm whts ur rear tyre size, have u changed them to a bigger size??? jus try these buddy, and ofcourse if the clutch is slipping then you will have to change them with the oil

![]() as for your first query, drain the oil from and remove the clutch assembly... check for the smoothness of the plates... if there is wear, it must be even... uneven implies the plates are goin for a toss.. this is not a symptom, though it leads to clutch wear: it is usually the load on the clutch rather than the engine which causes max wear... that is riding on higher gears at lower speeds, precisely lower rpms.... also is the engine oil you using is of the specified grade? as for the third query, i too am in need of a solution.... my clucth cable had become tight and i changed them(due to recent rains)... the lever is butter smooth now... but from the day i've changed them, i'm havin problems with gear shifting... its really gettin difficult to downshift after 20-30kms of running.... |

This is what they claim to have done. So i got my bike back and mileage hasnt improved. When i got my bike back, i checked the mileage myself and found it be low.
