  • Rajasthan tour, Help needed?

I am going to do a Rajasthan tour which would be approximate 2600kms round journey, Friends what are the things i should take with me, I am very confused as i am going on bike and we are 2 guys, so i want to ask a few things:
    1) Which carry bag i should buy for all clothes and rest of things.(2 persons clothes and materials.
    2) I donot have any helmet, I want a cheap(400-500rs max.) one and as light in weight as possible.
    3) What things i should check in my bike, I will give it for servicing 2-3 days ago of my tour start.
    4) Probably all of the routes will be covered in Day time, so , how to get rid of that Rajasthan burning heat.
5)How can i find a cheap hotel in a strange city??
    6) At what speeds should i drive for best average.
    7) I have a budget of only 6000rs for all things including Petrol for 2500kms, Hotel(probably 7 day stay), Food(100rs per day per person),Extracurricular activities. How should i bring these all things with in my required budget.

    I own a Pulsar 180 UG4.
    Thanks.

      essentials

      buddy,

jus make sure ur engine is in a pretty good shape, check piston rings, clutch plates, change engine oil, suspension, tyre pressure, brakes, betteries are well charged.

drive at an average speed of 70 - 80 kmph with sufficients breaks.

r there 2 bikes or single bike and pillion rider.
if single bike then you will hvae to take 2 bags. u can rest ur bag on the tank, make sure u put a cloth first on the tank or ur paint will get scratched. and the pillion carries his bag at the back.
dont load too much stuff in the bags as the pillion will hv to bear some of the weight and it might get tiresome.

if 2 bikes then you can carry a duffle bag and tie it on the back seat securely so it doesnt sway on either sides while turning the bike.

this a jus a basic suggestions from my side.
rest will be pouring in from experienced and senior members.

njoy every moment of the ride and keep us posted.
      best of luck mate
Ride Hard !!! Ride Safe!!! Enjoy every moment on your machine !!! Cheers....

          1) Use anybag that you want, use to bungee cord to safely strap them on the bike. if you have a saddlebag use them... we used 2xSaddlebags and a 1xtankbag
          2) I cant help you in this, If I were you, I would invest in a good helmet....
          3) Already answered above, + do carry engine oil
          4) Drink lot of water, use Electral if you need. Take small break, dont push yourself, the motive should be to be able to see the place and comeback safely than reach there shattering some sick speed records
          5) No problemo, (depends on the route) most places have all sorts of hotel. Best approach is to find a cop and ask him. Let cabbies, and rickshaw guys be your last options... average tarrif is 400 to 1000 Rs per night
          6) Stick around 70-80-90
          7) A seven day trip in 6000 Rs in not impossible... like I said again, depends on the route you take, and places you choose to see...

Please share the route map of your's. I am going to travel across following places ::

Indore-- Udaipur-- Nathdwara -- Jodhpur -- Jaisalmer -- Jaipur -- Ajmer-- Pushkar--Chittorgarh-- Indore.

The whole tour will be of 2500kms.

            3) I donot find shops in my city which keeps those AGV's helmets, so Forcefully i have to buy one within 500rs as it will not be logical to expend 1000rs on an average brand helmet.

              All that in seven days?

              Our routemap was
              Mumbai > Baroda > Jaisalmer > Sam > Jaisalmer > Jodhpur > Udaipur > Mumbai

Your trip seems more like a blitzkrieg dash to all the places without spending time and seeing places! Rajasthan is a beautifull place and I would still advice you to spend some decent time and actually see those places (actually am a nerd who hates and hates people going to a place and not exploring it )

And I dont really find logic in not adequately protecting your head
If I were you I would rather go for a average lid for 1000 odd bucks than spend 3-400 for a sub standard one and then regret! Wranglers, Vegas they are cheap and sturdy! PS I never recommended Agv or anything, just buy a good helmet!

Oh and dont forget to carry your thermal wear You will need them!

I totally agree to you. Visiting those places in hurry is not a logical effort at anytime. I will definetly increase the number of days if i find a need for it. I am too a man who loves exploring places.

Definetly look for a good Helmet.
Whay thermal wear, it will be too hot there.

Can you suggest ideal time(day or night or mention the time) for travelling between these cities.

BTW my bike has tubeless tyres both.

Well, I would strongly suggest you to get your bike serviced (not sure on the days), well in advance & take atleast 100 Kms drive within the city before starting your trip. This will ensure to detect & fix if there're any minor issues.
