Hey guys,
I have a pulsar 180, 2007 model. Completed over 19000 kms on it. Two months back I got a K&N installed on my bike. Well, I kind of fixed it myself inside the black box. ![]() I did not know anything about re-jetting the carburetor so I neglected it. The bike worked fine for about two months. It gave a better pick-up and reached over 100 at a better time. But recently, I noticed a significant decrease in the pick-up and over-all acceleration. -The top speed dropped down to 99-100 kmph. -One thing that is really disturbing is that it sounds like a two stroke bike (not exactly but it thumps like one, means the ride is not smooth as it used to be). -And whenever I release the clutch in 1st gear , for a fraction it seems that the bike has run out of fuel. So someone told me that my bike was running lean and I need to get bigger jets for my bike. I looked everywhere in Aurangabad but couldn’t find any. So I tuned my carburetor itself to get a richer mix (not too rich but just enough). I had to try it a couple of times but I finally managed it. ![]() -Now it has a better pick-up than before (not as good as I used to have originally) -It went up to about 108 on the top but still takes a lot of time and revving to get there BUT -it still feels as though it is running out of fuel during the 1st fraction in pick-up -Also, my spark plug has a black deposit around it. I checked it right after I riding for 6-7 kms. -Why is that?? I thought it happens when the mixture is too rich.But all other symptoms above suggest a leaner mixture, don’t they? I am confused, please help.. I cant even beat a P-150..(2007 model, without K&N) ![]() and it would be reaaly helpful if anyone could tell me where I can get the re-jetting done in nagpur or aurangabad.. thank you |
