Exclamation Drop in Engine oil!!!

hey Guys, i own a 2005 model HH Karizma with a r1100 filter and a ngk iridium plug. Bike has run over 15k with K&n up to date bike has run around 38k. i always used to change engine oils regularly for 2.5 k if mineral and 6k if its a synthetic. recently i used motul 5w40 Full synthetic oil and noticed oil level was decreasing at a rapid state when i got it checked, my mechanic said clutch plates worn out (he checked by kicker which was slipping, plates were really worn out when i saw them being changed) then just to make sure prob doesn't repeat i used mineral oil of 20w40 grade (as recommended by HH) and by the time i rode 1800kms i had to top up 800ml of oil! There is no visible white smoke nor are there any leakages(i check every single day).

Is it possible for my piston rings to wear out and yet smoke is nt visible?
is it possible that that bore kit has gone for a toss n i shud rebore it?
whatever the reason may be , there is no visible white smoke nor Leakages :/ what can be this mysterious problems ?

Ask your mech to check for valve oil seal, condition of piston rings,clutch plates and clearance . If he his well educated on ZMA he will come to know what is the root cause of the problem.

Just check your Exhaust, while touching there, if you could feel the oil then its sure your Bore/Rings have got worn.

If you can't see the oil dripping then this is the cause.

Hi, thanks for ur suggestion, after riding bike for 20kms i put bike in neutral and accelerated hard honding a white paper at end of exhaust and couldnt find any oil coming, tried with a finger inside exhaust also, it was all carbon no oil i suspect gear leaver oil seal as its oily(but never drips on floor!) but then again it may be chain oil also..

As there is no any symptoms for your oil disappearing now I am also confused, the only way is it should drip or it should be burnt.

Now I have a doubt can any one clear this.

Will synthetic oil leave its greasy residue in the exhaust? or will burn in to dry carbon?

This is a very crude method for checking it. Get a compression test done from the service centre.

i face the exact same prob with my uni when it did similar odo with motul fully syn 300v 15w50.. the culprit was the oil.. don't know why,but by the end of just 1700 kms,there was abt 500ml left.. but then the piston rings were also worn out.. so i simply opened the head,put new valves and piston rings,decabonised the head and put the valves and got the valve mappin done,checked the piston and bore - every thing was fine , so left it intact,may require a cam chain and tentioner - in my case only tentioner,as the mech damaged it... did a run-in for 1000 kms and till 60k kms - i.e is till i sold it,it was as good as new,infact even better.. much punchier acceleration and sound note.. this might also be due to the oil which was petronas sprinta fully syn 10w40.. from 40k to 60 same brand oil,change every 2k kms... never needed a top up.. i also used the bike with k&n for abt 8k kms but with upjetting..so reverted to stock after head thing and was wonderfull...

Thanks dogg!! when i changed the oil lately, less than 100 ml was left! the mech told me if ridden for around 100 km more, engine would have seized!! do u think i may have damaged the piston or bore or any other parts?? will get the piston ring and valves checked tomorrow. any other thing i should get checked? never looked into an engine before, hence not much idea abt it.

wow 100 ml?!? i suggest u to get a thorough check of clutch plates as well as piston rings.
