Rusting of exhaust pipe in Honda activa

Recently i have noticed that the Pipe that connects the engine and silencer has lot of rust accumulated.Is there a way I could remove this.I have tried to scrape the surface,also paint the pipe black but nothing seems to be working.

The honda dealer has suggested me to change the whole silencer pipe.The price quoted to me was RS.3000.What should i do.Should I go in for a replacement and if yes does a honda Activa cost so much.

My dads Honda activa's Silencer also has the same problem. That too in the dry climate of Hyderabad. I suppose if it is not causing any problem, for now get it sand papered and then painted with any high temperature paint. That should work out to be way cheaper than a full new silencer.

Try Hindustan paints at Ranigunj, otherwise, any competent mechanic should be able to get it done for you.

1) grind out all the rust with sandpaper and spray paint it. would suggest Bosny heat resistant paint
2)replace
