Exclamation No papers for Yezdi cl-2 ...

Guys, I wanted to buy a yezdi for years, but for some or the other reason it used to get delayed...
Finally at the start of this sept, I found a cl-2 in good condition and a good price ( compared to lot of other bikes, in worse condition )...
This ones a running condition, all spares are original, no dents, no major start up issues...
The catch was the mech from whom I was getting said the papers would be coming through in few days as the orig seller, a guy living in village near my town, wasnt available...

The mech however was my good friend's trusted mech, so I decided to pounce on the deal...

There are very few bikes available in my town ( Nasik ) and the price quoted was too high for the ones available...

This one seemt like a good one for 4.5k...
So in the desperation of probably not wanting to lose the bike, I bought it, agreeing to get the papers whenever the mech gets it from the orig seller...

I got the bike on sept 3rd '10... its got a monstrously sonorous exhaust and is just the model that I had wanted (cl-2), so am thumbs up for the bike...

But then few days back the mech tries to wash his hands off getting the papers for the bike...
We pester him a lot, meet up the orig seller even, who says he had lost the papers long time back...no hope of getting them...

so now I have a good bike, something that was in my budget, but then the papers thing is a pain in the ...

There wont be any major issues using the bike this way in Nasik, the police doesnt harrass you at all...
but when taking it out for trips, can be a cause of delays and corruption...

So my point here is..
I had heard of getting papers 'done' for a bike...wasnt too sure how and if it works...
If theres any solution to this, you guys should have all the info about it...
Can papers be procured/transferred from another bike/made etc...
counting on xBHP.
..

waiting for a charm .. cheers!

Thumbs up

If you want a peace of mind in riding the bike, the only way is take the original owner to the RT Office and there is a procedure to apply for a Duplicate R.C (The original owner should take a photo with the bike in front of the RTOffice and attach it with the papers), may be a bit expensive still imagine you retain the bike for a longer time it is worth it.

The other problems are you have to pay the tax dues pending with a penalty, Get the Fitness certificate done, Update the Insurance and start enjoying the Ride...

Never think of short cut ways like doing some other bikes RC for your Bike, This is not Advisable.

Swappy_Ducks - Kindly post your introduction in Who are you section of this forum.

As Satheesh said buying a good vehicle does not stop with condition of the bike, but the papers in order too.

Trust me, having a good condition bike at home and fearing every ride of cops intercepting would be the worst imagination.

Buying a old vehicle with proper papers however, if you need to do some work on it is regarded 10,000 times worth it!!
