  • Suggestions needed for Trip to GOA from Bangalore

I am planning to Goa for this deewali.
We have planned to start on thursday night by bike.
1 bike is karizma R and the other is pulsar 180
None of us have never been to GOA. so I need suggestions from you people on which route to select while going and coming.

Also what are the important places to see there and all.
As of now we are planning this route

Bengaluru, Karnataka 560001, India to Goa, India - Google Maps

    NH4 565 KM.
Somebody please tell me whether this route is a good route, whether its safe for night riding? etc etc!
    Thanks in advance!

the route i would suggest is take the NH4 from bangalore to belgaum and from there take NH4A it will lead you directly to goa...

the NH4 till belgaum is a 4 lane highway with dividers and is pretty safe even for night driving...
from belgaum to goa there are two routes either from amboil maharashtra or from castlerock, on both these routes you will encounter ghat area of around 40-50 km... i wouldnt recommend driving in the night on those roads.... the roads are good but the visibility with stock bulbs might be a problem if possible time your departure from bangy in such a way that you reach belgaum early in the morning somewhere around 4-5AM...

can contact me for other info...

@Kinshuk... any particular reason for going up to Belgaum and coming (sort of) backward via NH4A?

the other roads which take a cut from in between are state highways and might not be good for night driving... nothing else...
you can also take a short cut from dharwad... but I have no idea about the roads on that route...

sorry for the late reply, guess its been almost one year.
BTW guys, on the way I met with an accident. Nothing happened to me, but the bike - took 22000/- get it to the shape!

The road was very slippery due to the rain. we were about to reach goa. I had to slow down because of a dog i guess i dont know what happened!

anyway we went back to hubli and put the bike in a train and sent it to bangalore. Then continued with the trip. The trip was awesome except this thing! GOA is a hell of a place! loved it.

Next time going by CAR may be in another 2 or 3 months! planning to buy a car now!

another biker on the way !!

                      Hi guys,

This is my first post... so please excuse me if i break any rules :P

I am planning a trip to Goa from Bangalore this January and need tips for the same especially about the routes.

I was looking up on the google maps and found the route from mangalore to goa to be pretty impressive (along the coastline) so i was planning day 1 journey to be from blore to mangalore and then day 2 to be mangalore to goa.

Please suggest the feasibility of the route and other considerations to be taken into account.
                      Thanks a lot in advance
