Default multi Repairs for Karizma

Hi xbhp-ians,

My bike has started giving me a lot of problems recently and it needs heavy repairs as follows:

1) basically the back side 3 fiber panels(the one above tail light and the back two at the sides) needs to be replaced because they make too much clattering sound now whenever i pass a bump.

2) My front tyre runs freely a little heavy,I have tried changing it's disc pads (local because 2200 for genuine and 70 bucks for local :| ) but the tyre still runs heavy. My mechanic suggested me to get an original whole set of this(w.e. u call it :S ) except the big disc.

3) Is there an alternative for karizma headlight?as in i want to the meter system to be intact(coz i dont wanna spend on it :P ) but change the whole fiber light structure.

Now I can buy these parts from any nearest hero honda service center but they want me to get these things assembled at their center only and I really don't like the way they treat their customer ref- oswal agencies gt karnal road center.
PLUS hero honda spare parts cost MILLIONS(metamorphic-ally) as in the same parts from bajaj for a bajaj bike cost 1/3rd or at most half of what hero honda charges, and hero honda charges such high costs on their spares coz they hired the indian team and hrithik roshan as their brand ambassador :| and trust me i have bought spare parts earlier from hero honda and their quality is no better than that of bajaj's for the price they are charging.

so what i really want to know except the alternate headlight option for karizma,is, that are you guys aware of any hero honda service center,or distributer for spare parts who can at least give me some good discount on all the parts i buy from him.I reside in north delhi but for a good discount I am willing to travel in whole of the NCR.

Any info would be highly appreciable. Need to get fix my bike for an un-clattering mode of travel.

1. Try to find local fibre panels as original ones will crack again soon. worst quality plastics on an Indian bike.
I would suggest use double tape wher the panels are broken, in order to prevent the clattering sound.( i've it on my zma)

2. unscrew the calipers and the rotate the wheel. if it rotates freely, then remove the disk pads, sand them a lot ( since they cost only 70/- ), reduce their thickness a bit.
Attach the caliper back to the disk and see.
BTW TVS RTR's disk pads are good cheap disk pads (alternative) for ZMA. straight fit.
cheaper are ASK and ANL brands.

if the wheel does not rotate freely with caliper removed, change the wheel bearings.

3. for headlight, i didn't the issue. Are you not happy with the light intensity?
if that's the case 1) install relays for both igh and low beam and install 100/90W H4 bulb. don't go for blue bulb. it's the cheapest solution. ( i've it on my zma)
2) Remove the fairing, buy and install P220F headlight. it comes with 55W and 60W bulbs.
3) Install HID with projector but this is very expensive.

Try to get in touch with Delhi xbhapians on Delhi offline G2G thread. They'll suggest you a good mechanic

Hi Motion freak and thanks for your input and add.

Yeah I think i can get local fibre panels but they seemed pretty bad too. :\ no-one makes them in metal? :S

1) double tape as in double sided tape? I have already tried so many tweaks on other few broken parts in my bikes as in - used aerolite first, dried it and then finalized the damage with m-seal.

2) yeah I found a tutorial of zma only on xbhp forum,i think i ll follow that soon for the front disc brakes but my mechanic has tried to free the heavy tire several times but all in vain.the fuel level is full,as it shows when the handle is titled in one direction(don't remember which one right now though.)

WHAT :O ARE YOU SERIOUS? yeah I have heard tvs rtr discs are good but didn't know they are straight fit -WOW .but my calipers are damaged i guess. 2200 for the calipers and 2200 for the disc pads from burglars hero honda if the rtr disc pads fit in zma then they ll fit in karizma too right? :S how much are they of?
ASK and ANL - never heard, would check.

3) no I am not happy with the light intensity too, recently i showed it to a electric mechanic and he said my glass has faded and thus turn yellow? :\ need to change the glass as he claimed the lamp looks fine.
okay I am not sure of what relays are,are they this - http://www.wholesaleec.com/upload/up...LAYS-13509.jpg
they look costly.

will the p220f headlight fix on karizma without changing it's meter?not sure how the bike will look later. :P

Can you forward me that link's thread?

And thanks a lot motion freak.YOu have been of great help.

Join the club, My dear friend! The caliper seals of the bike have worn out. That's the root cause of the problem. You'll have to change the oil and dust seals.

Part nos:
45109-GE2-006 and 45209-GE2-006.

And get the master cylinder cleaned

These jerks don't even keep the essential parts, Leave alone giving discounts. No clutch cable, No choke cable, No brake hoses and no fork seals from the past 3 months.

But you can try ESS AAy agencies at naiwala, They are the main stockists for HH

Any info would be highly appreciable. Need to get fix my bike for an un-clattering mode of travel.

Replies in bold.

go for RTR pads, they are good. I use them

Relays
won't cost you more than 200/-

If the glass of the h/l is faded, then putting higher wattage bulb won't help.
You won't get original glass, you have to buy the whole headlight assembly for Rs. 800/-
the duplicate glass will go milky white in few months, but it is cheap. your call.

If you want to remove the fairing, then buy original Ambition headlamp assembly ( round H/L) and put 60/55 w or 100/90 W bulb in it with relays.
you can keep the meter

will the p220f headlight fix on karizma without changing it's meter?not sure how the bike will look later. :P

Very weird

Well i thought you only said that p220's full headlight would fix on karizma's until today when i noticed that bajaj s fibre headlight structure is very different to that of karizma. :P
any pics of some1 who already tried ambition's headlight on a karizma?

and plz share the link to that g2g forum. Thanks again.
