Hi All,
I have purchased new Royal Enfield Bullet 350 UCE last week. Have done around 300 km now and will get the first servicing done at 500 km - probably within next 2 weeks. I want a louder thump note and have almost decided on short bottle silencer. The question is - Shall I go ahead and change the silencer at the time of first service itself, OR shall I want for more time (say till 3 months to complete - at the time of second servicing)? Best regards, Anand |

wait for atleast 6000 kms before changing the silencer. The backpressure from the longer silencer will come handy in running in the engine properly.

Thanks Pratheek, pratheekkunder, ramesh, jd666, msn1 and aargee!
I will take your advice! I will not change it for next 6 months at least. BY the time I would have covered 5000 km or so. Or may be - I will wait for warranty to get over i.e. 1 year. That way running-in will be fine! Thanks for all your inputs. Best regards, Anand |

Hi all,
I have a STD 350 CI 2009 model that has clicked 4500 recently and I have run in properly with the stock long bottle silencer with the "C" type bent pipe. I was pondering over the thought of using a short bottle silencer as one of the bulleteers mentioned that this would free up the engine as the long bottle one is very restrictive. Here are my queries 1) If I go for short bottle silencer, do I need to change the bent pipe as well. I would prefer to keep the present bent pipe given a choice. 2) What brand of short bottle silencer would you recommend. What are the things that I need to look for ( with baffles, freeflow, glaswool type) 3) Will there be any retuning of the carburator required after the change 4) How will the change to short bottle silencer effect the torque and top speed 5) Will there be any drop in the average that I get per liter of petrol 6) Will this cause any exhaust valve damage in the long run? Regards, Srikanth |
