  • RD 350 handle bar for Bullet 350 UCE?

    Hi,

I have purchased Bullet 350 UCE a couple of weeks back. I am getting some back-ache since then. The pain is in the upper part of back. To be exact, the pain is on left side of the back - where the sholder ends.
I think the cause for this pain is the handle bar of the bullet. I think my hands are getting too much stretched for holding the handle bars. Please note that I am 5'4" tall. I have already got the stock handle bars lowered to certain extent for comfort, but I think that is not enough.

I have heard that RRD 350 like handle bars are best suited for bullets. Is that true? Will they help improve the driving / sitting posture?
Can they be fitted easily on the bullet? Will I need to buy new cables too for the handle bar? Or will the stock cables work?

I am based in Pune. Please guide on any specific shop that sells these handlebars.

    Best regards,
    Anand

I doubt that would help, since they are wider and straighter. So the issue is that you will have to reach further, and it will strain more.

I suggest the lightining 535 handlebar ( longer and wider ), but that would involve longer cables for clutch, accelerator etc.

Other thing i can suggest is get some padding on the seat, so that you sit slightly higher and forward.

My offerings to the gods of speed -

      - KTM Duke 200
      - Yamaha RXZ 5 speed

          Handle Bar

I agree in increasing the seat height rather than going for modifying the handle bar.

I had replaced stock handle bar of my thunderbird with RD 350 handle bar. RD handle bar suits Thunderbird ONLY FOR SHORT N CITY RIDING BUT NOT FOR HIGHWAY AND LONG DRIVES.
RE Thunderbird Since Jan 09 onwards
          Suzuki Zeus
          Jan -Dec 08 -- Sold
          Honda Unicorn
          Oct 06-Dec 08 -- Sold

New edition : BSA Mach 19" 6 Speed-- Sold

Schwinn Sporterra -- Up and running

Anand, Try with Suzuki Shogun handle bar. It has a bit elongated handle compared to other bikes and gives a great comfort. I had it in my RE Electra for somedays and it gave me a very comfortable ride.

              Electra Handlebar

Try the Electra Handlebar. I have Electra Handlebar on my STD and there is no back pain.

              Regards,
              Subu.

Be doubly sure you may not get original handle bar. My suggestion is to get it fabricated on a high quality steel. This can be done by any steel fabricator. I know some one who got it done in Mumbai.

I would like to change my Thunderbird handlebar to RD 350. I guess you have already done the same. Could you provide me with some reliable dealers in mumbai who sell good quality product.

                          Thanks
