Buy a ZMA, plonk in fuel tank, swing arm, headlight unit and other fiber parts of CBZ to ZMA. This way you will spend less and retain same looks of CBZ too

Thank you all for the helpful inputs. I really appreciate them and actually they do make a lot of sense.
@Sri: don't worry bro. That is what my idea is. The deal being to retain as much of the stock CBZ as possible and just changing the engine. I won't change one part from the CBZ if it's not utterly essential. Getting cbz parts on the zma does make more sense but still it doesn't satisfy me. ![]() It seems I was a little misunderstood. It's not that I just love the looks of the CBZ and therefore I should make a zma look like the cbz. The thing is, as I said earlier, I hate almost everything about the zma, from the sitting position to the footpeg position to the slightly vague and cushy feedback provided by the chassis. The one thing I totally adore is the motor. Solid and punchy throughout the range. The CBZ is my first bike and after almost a decade, I'm still in love with it and would never even dream of selling it! I guess I'll just find a cheap used/abandoned/totaled zma, pull off all the parts I need, put in a new cylinder kit/rebuild the engine and sell of the rest as spares. But unfortunately there's been an emergency and I gotta put things on hold for at least a month. But once it is done, I'll definitely put up the pics and the ride experience. I would still appreciate that other members consider this an active thread and if somebody has any ideas about finding an engine or getting a really cheap zma, please do share your info. Thanks to all for your inputs. |

if u r frm Bangalore then u can try this place named Shivaji nagar.
I've heard tht there is a gujri (scrap yard) there. They deal with all types of bike parts. But u will have to bargain to get the whole engine at a price below 20k. and if u r lucky u could also get the whole engine for even 10k. and it is always betta if u take a local guy wit u. OR There r many well knw garages who can make your bike perform like a karizma by using the same cbz crank, bearings, clutch casing etc. They fit of a karizma bore piston on your bike n put off karizma cams, flywheel, rocker arms, timing chain etc. end result.... your cbz flies like any ordinary karizma. and this can all be done within 12k for sure. |
