I have a 2008 model TVS Apache RTR 160(?Refresh) which has done around 13,500 Km.The bike is in stock condition (except for a HID kit which I picked up in Koti,Hyderabad).I've done all my free/initial paid services at the TVS service centre in Uttar Pradesh where I was based and was thoroughly satisfied with the servicing every time.
1. Now that I'm back in Secunderabad,where may I service the bike ?I've heard some not so great reviews about Kiran TVS!Are there good independent garages which will be able to service the bike and provide original spare parts in Secunderabad? 2. I would like to replace the stock tyres with tubeless tyres of equivalent specifications.Would someone suggest good quality tyres and where to pick them up in Secunderabad/Hyderabad. 3. Suggest a good engine oil also for the terrible Sec'bad summers.It does not have to be cheap.I just want my bike to be happy! |

Has anyone on the forum dealt with Castrol Bike Zone,Trimulgherry ? Do these guys follow the procedures written in their service card (gold/silver/prime service)or is the entire sales talk just hogwash ?

@Tyre:
For the front,look for MRF Zapper FY 80/90 17'(best grip you can ever get) which does its duty on R15 or MRF Zapper FS 90/90 17'. For the rear one, you can choose between Pirelli Sport Demon whose grip level is best both in wet & dry or Michelin Sirac,M45 which also gives descent grip in wet & dry conditions.Both are good tyres. @Engine oil: Motul 300V (FS),Motul 5100T(SS),Petronas Sprinta.All these oils gels well with RTR.

PPl do have mixed reviews abt kiran tvs! I from day 1 been getting my bike serviced from them and till date am satisfied. You just need to find the right person!
Make sure you get your bike serviced by Sanjay there, top notch mech he is! Once you done with your job card, try and speak to him and tell everything in person. Current supervisor there are fit for nothing execpt for Shekar. Though i must admit that they have lost one good supervisor to HH! thats arun! I really dont know any other private garages. you may also try susheel @ kukatpally. They are good too! Rest all have been answered by Drifty!

I finally settled on the servicing from the erstwhile Castrol Bike Zone at Sainikpuri and was quite satisfied with the professionalism displayed
![]() I also installed Joel's RTR 160 big bore kit here - Race Concepts - Next Level performance! |
