Secondly sourcing fiero's or any other con-rod would never do, as it might change your stroke length, hence it won't work at all as your piston will hit your engine's head. Gixxer is right, you need to get it done from a person who's done these things before and the one who does a really great job. As the mech recommends, go for a new sleeve... Make sure you check the bore, piston, sleeve quality after 2000 kms, tell him that you would come back and bang the block on his head if there's a problem.

Maybe it will fit somehow but will it have any problems? Actually I have consulted Bhamburda Mechanical works at Shivajinagar Pune They are specialized in Reboring and Sleeving Their workshop is recommended by many mechanics in Pune. I visited their workshop and I had found that it is very big and has good facilities like advanced machines and good people who do the reboring job Whereas when I previously rebored that person is the chief of racing club of Pune but he dont have good machines.Only one reboring machine and that too very outdated hence my last rebore job failed within 6 months. |

because Everything is ready with me(I have sourced valve guides, valves and stem seals) only remaining thing is the engine head and block packing gaskets TVS authorized centers in Pune are not having it for GLX.it will be available till saturday I am getting these packings from local shops but their quality is not good and will affect the quality of work.Last time also I faced the same problem of out of stock packings hence I was forced to purchase local made packings(Cant help because the engine was opened and the packings were required) and along with failed rebore,I ended up in oil leakage also. hence next week I will be doing this after packings are available. |

I opened the engine yesterday since I got the packings from one TVS dealer But the fiero Piston Pin didnt fit on the con rod of GLX. I put new valves of GLX and did valve grinding Also there were no con rod assembly for GLX available so that I can drill it a little bit and fit the pin. Also I hesitated to do any drilling in the stock con rod because for GLX If something goes wrong, then I would have to go for a new crank for 2700 But one good point was that 1 mm oversize piston of Usha was available hence I went for rebore and sleeving of the block I had.the 1 mm oversize piston was finally fitted.Hence it is 131.2 cc bike instead of 140 cc with Fiero bore. The mechanic showed one more technique of increase in power After doing the valve grinding, fitting the valves and after assembling the engine,He loosened the valves and started my bike Surprisingly my bike was firing like a race track bike and its throttle response was such that I felt that I am riding a RX 135 or more powerful bike But there was too much tic tic sound of valves because I had normal Cams and no high lift cams Hence I tightened the valves till that extent where there is no tic tic sound Now I am riding for 500 kms with speeds around 50 hence can tell you more about bike after 500 kms Yes but the power has increased too much. From 10 bhp earlier I can feel my bike like a Yamaha Gladiator of 11 bhp.Even in 4th gear if I give some throttle,it responds well.since for 500 kms,I am not raising too much throttle hence I will give more updates after 2 weeks |

Its sad to hear that the fiero piston didn't fit, but i am happy knowing that you are happy with the performance.
You have a bump in compression, hence that race bike kinda feel is there. Keep the timing perfect, do a run in of not more than 500 kms. imagine my state when i had a 30cc upgrade... congrats buddy, you finally got it done.

Hello All,
one update from 2000 kms after reboring done and after doing oil change after reboring Due to 1 mm oversize bore of GLX 125,my 125 cc bike is 132 cc It initially in morning runs as if I am running a 100 cc bike Like I run it for 10 kms in morning,it feels very rough Even a scooty can beat my bike in pickup. But say after running for 10 kms in morning and after switching off my bike for say 1 hour and again if I start it,then my bike behaves like a 150 cc bike. At that time even a HH Hunk finds difficult to beat me in pickup My bike races very easily till 80 but I have not gone beyond that speed but It can cross 100 to 110 kph also Well I also compared with my friend's HH Ambition 133 cc bike and when he driven my bike he told me that he finds my rebored bike much better than Ambition. And still I get mileage of above 60 kmpl inspite of carburettor main jet of Standard Bullet 350 cc. But still not able to solve the problem why my bike behaves like 100 cc while starting in morning. |

I guess you need to change the oil grade.
Engine breathes better in morning air, in fact it should feel better. Why don't you get the piston checked to sort out an issue (if any) with the sleeve or piston rings. Do check the compression of the bike to find out if there's any leakage.

I would like to put a sleeve in P150 and increase the bore dia to 65.5mm. I heard that Karizma stock piston is good. anybody know how much it costs? and about the performance.? and the piston Pin dia
