Unhappy R15's tyre on Pulsar 180 reducing torque/ response!

Guys,

I have a Pulsar 180 UG3 with the following setup:

1. Both tyres have tubeless valves. K&N installed with 125 sized jet. Open Chain cover.

2. R15's front tyre was installed 5000 kms before, and they work fine!

3. Rear tyre WAS a Ceat Vertigo Dual Purpose type, but it developed a problem whereby some air was mysteriously trapped within the tyre... It resulted in a bumpy ride.
Have a look below, the tyre has gone fat in one place only:

This is how it was from the inside:

So, I got a rear tyre from R15 itself, which is a Zapper-S 100x80/17. It was installed successfully:

\

Grip levels are awesome now, with both tyres from R15! And the bike is slightly under-geared now, after the rear tyre change. Balance is good. The wheel moves freely and the tyre is well aligned on close inspection.

But despite all this, the performance has decreased. Somehow the bike feels less torquey at the low end and mid range too.

So, my questions are:

1. Is it true that Soft Compound tyres do not give much speeds compared to hard compounds, like I read in a MotoGP 3D Game too?

2. What went wrong with the CEAT tyre? Why did it catch air within itself? Although it will be refunded under warranty, was it any of my mistake that caused this? There was no puncture in the place where the tyre caught air.

3. What can I do to get the torque back, keeping the same tyre only? Can I apply something on it, that will reduce grip and give me the low end response back? I admit I never heard of anything applied on a tyre.

i kinda felt this (hardly noticeable) difference when i put on the R15 front tyre on my bike.

i haven't put the R15 rear on my bike so it's not very noticeable.

reduce grip? that would totally nullify your addition of R15 tyres.

how about... i know this has nothing to do with your tyres but...

why don't you consider adding the P220 camshaft on your bike.

torque will increase.

which will bring back your bike's performance.

it's a direct fit. and won't cost more than 500 bucks.

I dont think just changing the tyres to R15 tyres will effect the performance. The issue may lie somewhere else as replacing tyre has nothing to do with the engine.

simple answer:
newtons third law:
grip increases (action) and more power required to over come resting/rolling friction(reaction).
as soon as you run teh tire for about 800-1000 km you will feel the problem is less pronounced because of erosion of the outermost layer which contain addition chemicals used during manufacturing process.
as for air in tire wall, it happens due to many reasons, in cars its commonly if you keep scraping the tire wall against kerbs. great majority are manufacturing defects where over time a small tear/gap between the wall layer or the belts keeps expanding.

Dude when you under gear it, the low end and mid range are supposed to improve and the torque also increases . This is what you told me when i under gear and also the same is given here . Gearing Commander: Motorcycle Speed, RPM, Chain & Sprockets Calculator

I see. So the soft compounds grip more and so, can't let the engine lay power freely due to its stickyness.
Hmm... You have a point. I kept ignoring the P220 Cam because I thought I had enough performance with K&N. But now, that thing can get me sorted out.

What would the side effects? Does it run lean? And what about the jet size? Should I keep the 125 jet on?
And I was also thinking about removing the K&N as it might not be soft on the engine after all.
Can I remove K&N and get the Camshaft installed with the 125 sized Main jet intact?

I just replaced tyre and noticed the engine is very slightly stressed. It was slight but noticeable.

I see. That's a good news.
About the CEAT tyre, even I was told by a mechanic that it is a manufacturing defect. It's good that MRF's now come with lifetime warranty.

The undergearing is very minimal because R15's rim is wider then that of Pulsar. So, applying the same tyre on Pulsar raises its ride height. So, the result is very slight under gearing.

I get 50 @ 4300-4400 rpm or so. This was 4000 rpm earlier. 5th gear.

I told you that and its true. But in this case, the soft compound tyres are killing the performance, with great grip though.
