Default Insurance expiring just before transfer of bike ownership

Hi guys, I would be selling my bajaj discover dtsi in Hyderabad

Got the following info by browsing through various sites on the process.
1. Form 29 and form 30 would be required
2. Form 28? - Since its registered in Hyderabad and the buyer too would get it registered here, would not need it.

My ambiguity

My bike Insurance is valid until 19-Oct-2011. The transfer of registration would be done on first week of Nov-2011. What would be the consequence of this? will it impact the registration transfer or would there be any problem for the new owner to get it insured?

i think u need 1 form 28 . 2 form 29s, 1 form 30, pollution check of the vehicle and insurance certificate.
if u are going to get the registration done before 19th then it doesn't matter but if the registration is done after 19th u have to get the insurance renewed. because the rta needs the valid insurance certificate...... if possible and if the buyer is willing to shell down a few extra bucks then get hold of an agent who'll get ur work done. the tranfer will be over the same day itself.

hey thanks... i would be closing the deal before my insurance lapses to avoid the hassles.

anybody has experience with getting a NCB certificate? I have read that a NCB certificate would be valid for 3 years... and i plan to buy a 250cc bike in a year..not much impressed with the current 250ccs in market and since they would cost north of 1.5L, it would be a good saving to get discount on insurance

i currently enjoy a 45% NCB on my bike and the insurance is with ICICI lombard. Could not find much details on how/where to get the NCB certificate. anybody?
