Default Bike stops and refuses to start

This is what I'm noticing after a visit to a BAL svc centre...
I own a Bajaj Discover 135, whenever I ride at arnd 6k RPM, the tacho goes crazy & starts showing false readings. Sometimes it even crosses of 11k RPM's & hit the other end of the meter. Also, the bike starts sounding weird & eventually stops & then refuses to start (as if I've run out of petrol), only after 5~7 cranks am I able to get it running.
Pls help guys.

the problem of the bike stalling has been resolved, tuned the bike yesterday, the SVC guys had tuned it way too lean. Now the accn & feel is crisp.
But the tacho is still going crazy beyond 5k RPM, seems to be an issue with the tacho wiring or the meter itself.
Any idea where the wires leading to the tacho originate???
C'mon guys, respond yaar...
