Default MAX Power Delivery

hey guys
i have a doubt in my mind

for example
lets take a bike HONDA DIO producing 7bhp @7000 rpm
does this mean the bike can go only till 7000 rpm ?
.
and by going for big bore setup , free flow exhausts free flow air filters
and other sort of performance mods

the BHP increases
lets say upto 9-10bhp
and if it can go only till 7000 rpm can the bike deliver the increased performance that is the 9-10 bhp ?

9-10 bhp is something that is attainable, but it would need vigorous mods... and it the end it would turn out to be unreliable on a stock engine, unless it is is designed to take mods. On a stock engine you can expect

For a proper power expected mod you will have to take care of the gearbox too.. well i dont really know anything about the gearbox, but i believe we can attain some good increase if we consider the transmission too..

Hi hunkofgals, the answer for BOLD part:
Usually, the Bike specifications tell the MAX power (what bhp at what rpm). In your case, Dio makes a Max of 7bhp at 7000 rpm. The bike will for sure go higher than that but the power delivered will be lesser than the 7bhp!

no not for all engines..but for most bikes we have! and remember the Max power is at a specific RPM where the Bike is tuned to give the Maximum power..

See this link for easy explanation of power/torque/power-torque curves/high-revving engine vs low revving engine, etc.,

@hunkofgals:

Every engine has a transmission system, the only difference is in the method the gears are shifted, manual or automatic. In automatic mode the transmission or change of gears are taken care of automatically, while we riders shift in manual mode.

There might be some people who do mods or have new gearbox designs for specific models..
But in a scooter of this cc, there is none.
You cannot expect any great power gains from your dio.
You can go for a free flow air filter and upjet your carburetor. and that will bring you 0.5-1 bhp increase..

i have got big bore setup done
recently added performance air intake
and free flow exhasut
ngk plugs
spit fire cables
upjetted the engine

what hp increase can i expect
stock was 7bhp

and all the above mods are done perfectly
and

do i need to change the CDI too
?
as i heard somewhere that racing cdi allows to go beyond the stock rpm redline mark ?
is it true ?

I dont know about the racing cdi's but check with your tuner if he can modify the clutch i.e make it shorter
many a times all these mods generate quite a bit of power but the clutch does not let you use it.
What size bore are you running??
