Default Need help in petrol tank

Hi all.
I have a problem with my Yamaha Enticer tank. And it is rusted a lot. And because of this the rusty powder is flowing to carburetor and is causing hiccups. Added to it someone stole my inline fuel filter. I love this bike because I am attached to it emotionally. I need to either replace the tank or get it fixed. Can someone suggest me if I can fit any other tank to Yamaha Enticer? Something like tank of Thunderbird or Bajaj avenger or something like that please....also some of plastic panels are cracked and looking ugly after Gati Transported it from benguluru to kolkata. And am not getting any spares for it. Don’t know what to do. Please suggest.
I currently stay in kolkata.

I think first of all you should avoid riding your bike as much as possible till the problem is solved 'cause it can harm/seize your engine.
Second thing is you can contact some mechanics at Wellington, they can help you out by finding what exactly the problem is and what can be done to fix the tank problem.

Hey Amit,

Where do you stay in Kolkata? There is a very good mechanic near Karunamoyee Ghat (near Tollygunge), sorry i am new to this place so not sure about the exact name.

His name is Gora da and he is specialist in Bullet and Yamaha but the only problem is that his cell phone is always swithced off and he uses it only to contact the owner to collect the bikes.

Thanks.

The problem i think is some rust is flowing with petrol into the engine, thats why you getting this issue.
Get the tank clean and i guess it will be resolved.
For cleaning, remove the tank, empty it, put kerosene oil and some nails into it and then shake it well, hopefully it should work.

Thanks.

In Wellington, when you're on the tram-line road which connects to the main road, there is a Hero(earlier Hero Honda) authorised parts shop exactly opposite to some car accesories shop; take the narrow street adjacent to the that Hero shop and then take first left, go ahead few metres and then you'll find an open workshop kinda space. Ask there for Shahid or any other mechanic.
I'm sending his number to your inbox. Check it. His name is Shahid, and he is a very good mechanic, specially for bullets

Also i think its better to put a fuel filter to keep the rust in the filter and will avoid rust entering carburetor.
