Hi friends,

yesterday while comming from office on the way vehicle started to make a weird sound fat fat fat sound and on way home showed it to local mechanic just near home he told that the core of silencer has got cut off and by welding we have to cut it and then again join it, so today morning wen to the mechanics shop and he took silencer and went to welding shop and told it willl take one hour after one hour i went vehicle was fixed. But i could not see any physical signs of welding on the silencer it looked just little as if someone had cleaned it but the mouth of silencer where it meets the engine was modified and he told it had to be changed. He charged 120 Rs for this. I had to get this done as i had to go to RTO for reregistration of my MH vehicle and show vehicle to inspector.SO i am thinking whether am i just being ripped off or really the work is worth Rs.120/- This makes me feel it s better to give service in authorized HH showroom (Super splendor self start 2006 model) rather than local service person, i thought local will be cheap and more reliable.

hahaha brother i had faced the same problem with my super splendor kick start model 2004.
I also took it to a local mech he said the the silencer's mouth needs to be sealed by welding as there are holes near it.
He took the silencer and went with me to the welding shop and got it welded and charged a 90 rs for it(1.5 years back)

After that the problem had resolve so ur paid money has not been wasted and u can trust the mech
