Default Apache rear drum brake issue

Hi all,

My apache HE 160 , 9500 kms done and rear brake is not sharp enough even from the first day. now recently asked svc to change the brake shoe , but they checked and replied 'it is still good to run'..but i dont feel the sharp braking any time, brake lever goes down too much..is it b'cos of brake shoe or some other problem ?

Thanks
Vino.

If brake shoes are good then get the brake screw tightened . Or u can even set it to ur required level on ur own , just take a spanner and tighten the screw upto the level u want the brakes to be hard. But remember too much tightening will lead the vehicle to move slow and the brake shoe will get worn out very easily.

BTW getting brake shoes changed at 10 k kms is a healthy bite for ur bike. So insist the svc guys to change it and keep a watch on them when they are changing it.

Try rubbing the inner part of the hub with emery paper like this.
