Default Amaron Query

Guys I own a classic CBZ(2003) Self start.Im really tired of the current battery's(Amco) maintenance.Goes down after two or three starts. This is the 2nd battery till date.Ever since ive heard of Amaron dry cell ive been dreaming to get one for my bike.On enquiry in a few shops i found out that Amaron doesnt have any battery for the Self Start CBZ only battery for the kick start ones are available.

Is this true?? Or im being taken for a ride???

Guess you have 7Ah battery,Amaron have no 7Ah battery,You can fix the 9Ah battery with some mods to existing battery cage. Have a look at my signature,I had fixed 9Ah Amaron in my ZMA. Guess it will be same in your bike too.

The original equipment battery for your bike was flooded-lead-acid type , I believe . Are you using the same type , or changed to the new sealed-maintenance-free types ?

True,.... the Lead Acid battery with Flooded type needs attention like top up with distilled water and cleaning terminals and applying white petroleum jelly to avoid corrosion etc.,apart from this maintenance ,the acid spill from battery also causes corrosion on parts coming in contact with it..
So it is better to switch to Sealed Maintenance Free Battery.
Amaron SMF comes in 2.5, 5 , 9 and higher amperes with 24 months replacement + 24 months discounted replacement depending on no of months in use..There is no 6 or 7 amps type..Exide makes SMF 6 amps widely used in ZMA-R /ZMR /CBR250 etc., and the model no is ETZ-7

The amaron battery (maintenance free) is the best battery out there.
I am using it for more than a year.
Believe it or not, this battery can take a lot of stress, it never gives up.

I've initially bought it for DC conversion, and many many things went wrong in it.
So the battery had to go through extensive overcharging/undercharging and also was the most stressed part of the bike from the beginning.

Later after the installation of the Alternator, the battery had to do everything, it even had to run 100w hid bulb as well as run the spark plug all at the same time, not to mention every remaining electrical on the bike, the battery still didn't give up until a good time.
However now the battery has taken a toll, but that too after the most vigorous R&D for more than 1 & a 1/2 year.
Just go for this battery eyes closed, its worth more than the money you put in it.

Besides, you can install a 5 amp battery too, it would still make the self start work, or go for 9 amps and modify the brackets.
Any mech would be able to do this for you anyways...
