Help needed-- FZ 16 engine shuts off Automatically
HI guys, i think i am facing this issue with my FZ16,recently started facing cold start issue but during the same i also observed petrol leak from the carburrator(pipe which is attached),so went to the local mechanic (as my bike is two years old),as per him my flute pin has gone kaput so he replaced it with pulsar 220 ones which as per him is same has the yamaha and cheaper also.but since then am facing a weird issue if am running for continuous for 14-15 KM engines shuts off and refuses to start.i need to wait for another 20-25 min to cool down the engine and after that engine starts normally.this is happening since some time ,twice it happened when i was in the middle of road and the engine had shut off,its very dangerous especially on eastern express highway in Mumbai, wife has already warned me to sell off the bike,i just love this bike, guys please help me, wanna get back on my bike soon as i have stopped riding it since 1 week.Tags: None

Hi i would request the mods to kindly merge this query with yamaha FZ 16 ownership thread as the user above will get better response for the same.Originally posted by hellrider6140 View PostHI guys, i think i am facing this issue with my FZ16,recently started facing cold start issue but during the same i also observed petrol leak from the carburrator(pipe which is attached),so went to the local mechanic (as my bike is two years old),as per him my flute pin has gone kaput so he replaced it with pulsar 220 ones which as per him is same has the yamaha and cheaper also.but since then am facing a weird issue if am running for continuous for 14-15 KM engines shuts off and refuses to start.i need to wait for another 20-25 min to cool down the
anyways as per the signs my understanding, your carburetor is not able to provide sufficient fuel to the engine and is running a lean air to fuel ratio (AFR) thus, the engine is getting over heated. i highly recommend getting your bike serviced at the SVC center, Kamala yamaha, Sunmill compound, Lower Parel, right opposite phoenix mills, Mumbai (+91-22-24948100).
although the service charge is bit expensive (about 300 just as labour charge) however, the guys over there are efficient and will troubleshoot this in no time. for all small things you can always go to your trusted local mechanic.
