Default taking care of smaller bike on longer journey

hello Xbhpians .
Now I am doing very long rides on my small Bajaj platina 125.
I want to know that what type of special care should be taken for my bike..
I have done 437 km in a day.
I was cruising at the speed of 50-75km/hour .
For overtake some time it touched 85kmph.
..

Just ensure that you give a 15-20 min break every 100 kms or so to ensure that the engine doesn't get over heated. Other than that, no special care is needed. You can also try using Semi-Synthetic or Full-Synthetic Oils when going on long rides.
I do go on long rides on my Discover125, but I ensure that I stop every 80-90 kms.

Adding to that you can play with the sprockets for taller gearing so that you can attain little more cruisability (am i correct with the word?)
and a thicker oil will help too suppose your bike is recommended for 20w40 then you can use 20w50 (dont follow this in freezing winters)
and also dont go beyond 80% of the bike's capacity
i mean if the rev limit is at 10k then dont exceed 8k.

i have a dio
i always think that the bike might stop if we ride continuously for 100kms
but it shocked me where i clocked 120kms
riding at 40-50 km/hr ( as i was in run-in- period)

but i wanna clock more than 120kms in a stretch
what precautions do i need to take ?

follow the above posts & dont exceed 70-75 kmph. Better change the oil before ride.
How long one can ride continuously depends on riding habit & ambient temperature.
If you are riding at full throttle with temps above 40॰C then stop every 50-60kms (this distance can be increased using FS oils)
and if its 25-30॰C and you are riding at some 50kmph than you can hold that for the day long.
*But keep your speed varying (not too much)
*dont stress your engine i.e. Exceeding 70-75 kmph
*stop every 80-150kms (according to conditions) atleast for 10 mins
* and run slightly rich on AFR (it lowers engine temp)

@honda_CBF
thanks a lot for the info
ill surely take those precautions
but whats the reason to run rich
how will it lower engine temperature ?

A leaner AFR means lesser fuel comes into the combustion chamber. Incoming fuel mixture absorbs heat from the piston head. So if you have a rich AFR more fuel comes into the combustion chamber thus gives you a better cooling of the piston head. During continuous riding it is recommended to have a richer AFR.

The reason is that engine oil is circulated around the piston and the head of the piston is not cooled by engine oil. Whereas piston head has the maximum exposure to very high temperature. . The fuel absorbs the heat and this enhances its combustion ability.

And also liquid's (fuel) physical property is to absorb heat, so it works like a coolent inside the engine.
But dont run to rich Because it will wash of engine oil from the cylinder walls and cause damage and not to forget about lowered mileage.
