Reset your tappets, normally this issue happens when the inlet valve's are set too tight.Motorcycling Experience:

The problem you describe sounds simple one like Ashwin says . Get a competent Yamaha service center to look into the bike thoroughly .Last edited by Pinaki; 01-27-2012, 12:13 AM.Comment

exactly.. looks like the service center is ripping you.
step1- goto another yamaha service center with thorough checkup.
step2- write a mail to yamaha telling the incident. I hope you get your 1700 back and good problem resolution for your bike..

I had exactly the same problem with my R15.
Eventually i figured out that the spark plug was making a sound when the bike got off..(I got new spark plug a day before).
Then I opened the fairing re-installed the spark plug and tightened the plug cap.
I got no problem after that day .Comment
