I want to buy a helmet and have only 5000 to spare to that cause (Suggestions around 3k would be better). This is the first time I am seeking advice on the matter. Previous purchases have all been blind irrespective of the quality of the helmet or features or VFM taken into consideration.

Helmet history: I currently own a LS2 (model?) (size XL) helmet which I got for 3.6k. I previously used a Vega Helmet @2k which I lost and another 500 buck hemlet I got free with my bike and lost unused (It was horrifying to put it briefly).

Purpose: This helmet is for the pillion rider although it's initial and later use might be that of a new learner and rider. So general purpose helmet. Sorry for the confusion. Helmet's for my brother (who is learning to ride now). And we won't be switching our helmets later on.

Budget: Rs.5000/- (upper limit) [Kindly justify spending more if such suggestions are made]

Location: Bangalore. Open to online shopping but apprehensive about the fit

Also it would be a bigger boon if someone could point out where I can buy the suggested helmets in Bangalore. I searched a 20km stretch of road and visited every single shop from Whitefield to Urvasi Theatre(area=?) to buy the LS2 (ironically) in the same shop that I got my Vega from. So in practise I know of only one shop to buy from and am at his mercy for availability, choice and price.

What I am looking for in the hemlet?
Good protection (!) High quality and standards
A clear visor (dark ones at night are a big problem as with my LS2)
Preferably light weight & comfortable (?)
Looks etc are secondary and do not matter much (at all)

To summarise,

Kindly suggest a helmet within 5k

Also suggest a place to buy the said helmet

I am aware of three types of helmets: (Kindly suggest which is better - I have absolutely no personal preference -as of now

The LS2 is good.. but since you have budget of 5k, you can go for this:
Daijya G-Fit Samurai: D-220 Red - 4,750.00Rs
Its dual visor, pump system, quality is better than LS2. But beware of the size. Go for the next size of a perfectly fitting LS2.
