Hiii friends
Is it possible to make the forks of my Slingshot less stiffer without damaging the bike??
showroom ppl told me that you can increase action by reducing oil but it will cause damage to the forks.


my problem is that each and every minor details of the road is transferred to the handles,its okay in rubberized highways,but in the uneven(good at sight) roads in my locality riding is a nightmare

my bike is about 8 months old, and it was always like this(started complaining since the first service)

Try riding other slingshot and see if it also has the same problem.
(By riding other slingshots you will get an idea if your bike has a defect or it is a design defect).
If it does not have this problem replace front shocks under warranty.

You can try under filling the front tyre a bit . Works . If you have to go at the forks , you need a different weight oil in it and not lower volume than specs .

I haven't rode any other Slingshots, but i tried its predecessors both Heat and Zeus,,both got cool suspensions and better pick-up than mine
i tried under-filling front tires but thats affecting handling at higher speed

Two other quite safe ways to alter the front forks behaviour is to use different tension springs fron another bike's forks that fits snugly or to use a different weight oil in it . Engine oils can be used according to it's base weight - like a 10w30 becomes a 10wt and a 5w20 becomes 5wt for this purpose . ATF can be used too , it's around a 10wt oil . Standard fork oils here are not weight labeled , but I guss they are around 7.5wt . You use a heavier weight oil for more stronger dampening (and slower rebound) and lighter oil for opposite effect . Read up on "front fork tuning" on the internet .

According to Suzuki showroom people Slingshot has the lowest weight fork oil,,i'll have to put a low tension spring from any other mechanics.that will void the warranty though,any way i just sent an e-mail to Suzuki, i'll decide after getting their reply


and BTW how much does a spring coil cost?

@ Rashid,
go & ride any other slingshot bro, try to ask for the test bike at the showroom. And tell us the difference.

Under filling fork oil can give you softer suspension. But first check if its a problem with the forks.
Btw, how stiff it is? Any noise? Any other abnormal behaviour from it?

Apart from uncomfortable ride at small roads, fork is normal,i think i't will be ok for heavy guys
