The slower the vehicle, the quicker it can turn

Noticed how pedestrians, cyclists, rickshaws and auto-rickshaws can so suddenly move in right into your path? They move slowly and sudden direction changes are not a problem for them.

Question Second Hand Pulsar 220 DTs-Fi or DTs-i

    Hi Guys,

I want to purchase a second hand 220. I am confused between the DTs-Fi and DTs-i. Can you guys let me know which is better as per the ride quality, power, mileage etc from personal experiences. Beacuse I heard that in DTs-Fi there is a lot of vibration after reaching 90km/hr in some cases.

    I already have a offer.
Pulsar 220 DTs-Fi 2008 Model, 18k runNew Rear tyre and New Battery for 52k (negotiable).

Please let me know if this is a good deal. Also whether DTs-i wins over DTs-Fi or it is the other way around.

    Thanks,
    Cali115

Fi is really better than non-fi (Apart from the power figure & the top speed). If you are getting a good Fi piece, I would say, go for it. That way you will have the reason to get it serviced from PBK only.

    Question

What about the spare part availability? Is it reasonably priced? since its no longer in production?

Apart from the fueling bit, everything else is almost same as P220 DTSi. So rest assured you will get spares for either.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Awesome. So 52k for a 2008 model 18k done sounds like a good deal right? Might be buying it after checking it properly this weekend.

and how much can I expect for a 2003 Caliber 115 green with 25k on the odo

I sold my 2003 Caliber 115 Blue with 28k on the odo for 22k back in July 2009. The resale for this bike unfortunately isn't very good.

Its a big upgrade so make sure that someone who owns a P220 test rides the bike *before* you buy it. At 18k old, there really shouldn't be too much wrong with the bike internas as long as the chassis-frame is alright. Hope for the best.

52k is on the higher side. 45k is good. I have 2007 P220Fi and pretty well maintained but if I sell it now I'm not expecting anything more than 35k

MG Bhai, you have unreasonably low expectations from your bike. Surprisingly, even Nana Peth P220s are selling for higher prices than what you expect.

@Cali115 45k is a good price but this also depends on where you are currently.

@MG 52k and negotiable, will try to get it down to 48 or 50. I am in Bangalore, prices are pretty much high for everything here 35K ? thats seriously low!! Can I buy that jsut kidding

Regarding the Cali 115 its still going strong, but I am kinda bored and need some power. Good mileage too around 55 it gives in Blore city traffic. Will quote 21k lets see what happens.

And I had a my Bro's Blue 220 when I was in Pune when he was onsite for a year or so. Covered around 2k Kms in that. Thats when I started liking the 220. It is one hell of a machine
