For the first ask the SVC to check for oil circulation pressure,Oil level and quality.
For the second, again ask the SVC to set the AFR rich...by turning the AFR screw by 1/2 turn(180 degrees) ANTI CLOCKWISE. This will lower the FE and your mileage will drop.
If this adjustment had not been done to increase FE ,AS PER YOUR REQUEST, then insist on it....most SVC have Emission checking equipment, and while checking your bike on it adjust for 1.5% of CO.When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.Comment

dear psr,
have checked the oil level it is perfect... & as mentioned earlier i always change the oil @ 1500 kms with genuine Honda oil (10-30 )so that possiblity is ruled out...
the SVC have checked the carb...
what exatly is AFR??? where is it situiated in the stunner... srry i dont know... maybe a silly ques fr u ....
i think so its stock adjustment...

Hi Yashraaj,
AFR is Air fuel Ratio. It decides the ratio of air and fuel that enters the engine.
In Stunner, it is at the back of the carburettor. You will have to remove the complete battery compartment to see that.Comment

In addition to what PSR Ji says, here're some more test for you to carry out...
1. Check the fuel efficiency of your motorcycle by reserve to reserve method
2. What is the color of your spark plug?
3. Is it possible for your to compare if the engine heat from your Stunner is almost the same compared to another Stunner or any other 125 cc engine like Discover, Shine?Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Does your wheels rotate freely ?? Have you checked it ?? Becuase even if your wheels are not free then engine has to work more on those terms and it would get heated. Check your brakes too, whether after braking does it retract back or not ??Last edited by Guest; 11-09-2012, 01:56 PM.Comment

What about your clutch setting? Is it right?
Do you feel lack of power compared to the engine rpm (feel as if clutch is engaged)?Comment

dear feiends,
got the valves, secondary chain, tappets & AFR checked...
clutch setting id checked & is fine....spark plug is brownish in color...
i still think the problem persists & engine overheats early....
want to solve this problem asap... some more inputs pls... waitin

Ride your bike for about 10-15 Km & get hold of your Honda ASC to check the engine temperature. It shouldn't be more than 92-95 Celsius. It can be measured using the thermometer available at the ASC. If it isn't, then there's no issue with your engine.

I guess switching to Fully Synthetic may help.. try Motul 7100 or 300v (should cost around 900 ~ 1k per litre max).
I am guessing AFR is set to very lean mixture, thus causing the engine to overheat as soon as it starts running.
Check if the oil is being circulated freely without any obstruction...
Is the chain cleaned and lubed at regular intervals?...
Is the wheel rotating freely or does it have any obstruction thus causing the engine to work harder and overheat..!!sigpic

Seems to me the oil is the culprit here.I had this overheating long back in my cbz when i used to use Honda 10w30SJ grade oil.After switching to a thicker 20wXX my bike stopped overheating.Why dont you use Castrol/Valvoline/Gulf/Elf 20w40 and revert back??In A War Only Men DIE!!

Best is to stick to factory prescribed engine oil. That way you can remove one area of concern (if at all it is).Originally posted by pioneeraron View Post

Plz remember/note the original AFR setting so that it can be reverted to if the results are not satisfactory. Do it in steps of 1/8 turn only and then drive for good 5kms to check the new setup.Contribute to the environment.Comment
