Question HELP: White light bulbs for R15

Hi Guys, I got my Yamaha R15 4 days back.
I wanted to remove the regular halogen bulbs and install those white light emitting bulbs(ex. something like the ones in Skoda Laura).

I want to know is it possible to just replace the old bulbs with this pair of bulbs n it's done? or is there anything else needed to do, like installing a power cutout for the battery and stuff?
i inquired bout the bulbs in nearby accessory shop n he showed me philips bulbs costing some 950 bucks. he said i'll additionally have to buy the cut out unit and install it.

So can anyone help me in it? Which bulbs shud i go for? Are these bulbs and the HIDs which r being discussed in other thread the same?

I m from Mumbai, so can anyone suggest me some good place where i can get this installation done properly, because opening the R15's body is not every mechanic's job.

I also need some help regarding the tyres. Can anyone suggest me a tyre shop in Mumbai where i can inquire bout fatter tyres for my R15? Some one from nashik on orkut has done the modification and i've seen those pics. Bike looks damn good and he says that no alterations are needed to b done to the swing arm. 120 section tyres fit properly at the rear. So can anyone suggest me some tyre shop where i can get good quality tyres and mechanic?
Also plz tell me will installing fatter tyres affect my R15's performance? Drope of millege by a few kms/l is not an issue for me but the performance shudnt b affected. Coz for me performance is imp than the looks...

Plz do help guyz.
Thank u in advance...!

Skoda has HIDs.There are huge advantages of installing them would go abt listing them.Google for HIDs and read abt them.Go inquire for HIDs in car shops at milan subway.Alternatively you can buy them from ebay.

1]Metro tyres in scooter galli, near lamington road at bombay central/grant road. All tyres for bikes are available with him and is frequented by bikers in city.
2]fatter tyres doesnt necessarily mean good tyres.Rubber compound and thread pattern has a huge role to play.
Suggest never refer to orkut for mods/suggestions when there are plenty of inhouse experts at XBHP

Hey Mate!! Congrats For the new bike..
1/3 : About the white lights you said...
its very simple an easy, those are direct fit headlamps..
you can directly fit them, just do not touch them with barehands, even the fingerprints affect their life..

2/3: These headlights are differrnt from the HID,its an expensive unit, and for R15 you wud need two of 'em..some where costing you around a 15k bucks..

Now 3/3: About the Broader tyres,i would say the stock tyres are The BEST...if still u insist about broader ones you can go for it..and YESS offcors,it would affect your bike's performance..

Regards
-L.P.

@ketan kindly refer to owners thread for such questions
@ darth
the HIDS do drain the battery at an alarming rate in the R15

quitea few owners who have installed them have removed them
moreover the showroom guys have told me that installing HIDS will void your warranty
the R15 has one of t he worst warranty's in india where almost everything seems to be banned...
night breakers are good but the R15 is 35w bulbs and the nightbreakers are 55(im not too sure though) so again ur battery will get exhausted
keep in mind that while the bike uses the same 12v battery as all other bikes it has to additionally power the radiator fan so taxing the battery is not a good idea
change the tyre only fo rcosmetic reasons expect a significant fall in teh performance

R15 has 2 35 watt bulbs.

HID bulbs are available for 35 watts.Gent above says osram nightbreakers are 55 watts.Which one will drain the battery is your choice

Reason why HIDs have drained your battery
1]Incorrect circuit
2]Wattage isnt the same as your stock headlamp bulbs.35 watt HID bulbs would have been fine.

Since old archieves of xbhp are deleted good place to start

HID Xenon setup for bikes - BikeNomads

yeah warranty would be void if you care
