The famous way to increase headlight power on a pulsar 150/180 is to replace the stator plate by that of avenger 180. I recollect that when discover was launched, it's kick start version had 55W headlight. Is there any possibility that Caliber 115's stator plate can be replaced by that of discovers, thus increasing the available current? Can some techie guide on this front?

nahin yaar, dont do all that stator plate nonsense.

Situation: You need better light through sst route.

Complications:
a. Coil rewinding is ~12-1300 job. No long term value should u upgrade ur bike in a year
b. HID will need higher capacity battery - though its 35W, have seen/read enough drain issues.
c. crash guard would also need higher capacity battery simply because the charging circuit is designed for a 2.5AH battery.
d. LED lights - you will NOT get half decent beam with the LED thingmajigs. seen them at pitch dark night - lovely to walk/amble/ride on beach <30 but NOT cruise.

Suggestion:
Crash guard jugaad because
- its cheaper
- battery/crash light u can carry over to next bike
- As an ex-caliber owner, you cannot speed enough to justify an HID

Question Hello

Sorry for revoking this pretty old thread
Well i own a Unicorn for which i converted the Headlamps to DC bcz the stock lights were very poor. I ve also put OSRAM NIGHTBREAKER 55/60w bulb.
In simple the light is superb, i am pretty happy with the performance.

Now the discharging rate will be more than the charging rate of battery, right? I want this problem to be solved. Pls help me.

--> If i change the regulator alone will the charging rate increase or should i get the coil rewind done?

--> If not what other possibility is there to increase charging rate of battery?

--> ZMA also has a DC headlight with 7ah battery, so can i use any of ZMA's component that increase the charging rate? Eg. Alternator or Regulator.

--> I also heard that Avenger's alternator will fit fine, is that true? Is it a direct fit to Uni also??

Please do help me techies i am very much worried bcz i battery gets drained soon

Default Head light upgrade_HH_Splendor Plus

Hai Gurus, this forum rocks, this is my first post in this forum. Yesterday, I purchased Osram N/B-55/60W for my 2003 model HH Splendor Plus at A.H. Helmets, Mumbai. As referred by Mr. Hemant there, I approached a mechanic for installation of the same, he installed the bulb without installing relay or upgrading/rewinding the coil and not upgraded the headlight wires. When I switch on the Head light, other lights i.e., speedo-light, tail light lose their intensity. Please help me with the following:

(1) In case of cars, separate after market headlight bulb upgradation wiring harness kit is available, any such thing is available for two wheelers and while in cars separate relays are available for headlights and horns, any such headlight relays are available for bike headlights (Please also suggest me the company)
(2) What sort of coil rewinding/gauge upgradations have to be done to withstand the load of 55/60W bulb (Please suggest me a good mechanic to do the work in Mumbai-Goregaon, Jogeshwari)
(3) I've installed Bosch dual tone horns with the stock battery in position with relay, whether the same will eat up the battery prematurely
(4) Also, installed NGK Iridium (with yellow imported wire) spark plug, K & N filter from the same mechanic (Barring horn, all the other items bought from A.H. Helmets), Please advice me it is ok with these installations, whether these are not harmful to the engine.

Please bear with my (newbie's) questions.

Thanks in advance.
