Mirrors don’t reveal all

Use those RVM’s extensively but don’t depend entirely on them. Do a visual check by turning your head before making any direction changing moves. Mirrors reveal a lot but can also hide.

    Default Help with P200

Ok. This is a list of help/suggestions that I need with my P200.

    1) I just got the carburetor tuned and installed NGK Iridium Spark Plugs. I am yet to install splitfire cables for them. Can someone please tell me if I can get them somewhere in Chennai other than from Hardeep Automobiles or CBX Racing? I've tried in both places and they seem to be out of it. Also, how is the difference with and without the cables?

    2) I have a K&N filter (RC1060) installed on it. My mileage went down recently, and on consultation, I was told that I need my filter re-charged. It has been around 5000 odd kms since I installed it, and I have never yet recharged the filter. Is this true? Do I need my filter recharged? Can someone please tell me whether the R1100 can be fit on my P200?

    3) My rear tire is not tubeless anymore. A 4-inch nail cropped up and destroyed the beading near the rims. Now it runs on tubes. I need to change to tubeless again and I came across a new brand named "Duro" which offers a 60000km warranty. Can someone tell me if it is any good? Or should I stick to my stock MRF? Does it make a significant difference in mileage if I'm running on tube tires?

    4) My front disc brake response is not what it used to be when I bought the bike. I haven't yet replaced the pads, but they have been removed and cleaned several times. Will it make a difference if I switch to new disc pads?

For General Information, my pulsar is about 8 months old now, and has clocked close to 9500kms so far. I would appreciate it if someone could please help me with this as soon as possible.

    1)no idea....

    2)recharge?...i think you mean cleanin?..
yes it does have to be cleaned just like the stock foam filter..i used to clean my filter every few months..

3)to the extent of my knowlege..it wont affect your mileage..you can stick to tubed till your tyres wear out

4)new disk pads will surely improve the bite...but ive noticed that after some time even after replacing the pad's the new feel to the disk gets lost...anyone??

Yep. There is an improvement in my mileage. Marginal. I am not really sure about this, but there seems to be an improvement in the low-end grunt too. Again, this could be only because I WANT there to be an improvement. Not really sure.

2 Iridium Spark plugs + Splitfire cables = Rs.1600-2100 approx.

The disc itself wears out man.
Due to dust and other such abrasives settling on the disc, grooves/scratches get formed on the disc on application of the brakes.
These grooves appear to reduce the braking performance. At 9500 km Insidious' bike might have worn through its pad's. The scratches don't really affect the braking till the disc itself starts showing signs of wear.

Well, once the disc wears out beyond a certain point i.e when the disc thickness goes below a particular value, there is no other option but to change the disc itself

The Unicorn's disc costs around Rs 1200/-. Mind you, its a 240mm dia disc, the P200 uses a 260mm one..

    Cheers..!!
