  • Whats the going price of pulsar 180 classic

    Hi Guys,
I have a Pulsar 180 classic (2002 model) in good condition.
New bore and piston, clutch plates, front tyre. what price do you think
    i should quote for it?

I think 25 K would be fair price for this bike.

    Please pour in your thoughts.

    Regards

      A 2004 180 dts i ug1 would go for 25k. The 02 classic would fetch barely 20k.

I have 2001 Dec, Pulsar 180 Classic in almost mint condition and being offered 35K, refused to sell. Gona make my grandsons proud of owning one

You know in 4the year it was already marked as "Classic", it takes ages to get tag of classic

Why to sell a classic, unless its a must
I have seen classics earning more XX times more than new ones betting my money on mininting it on old age

I have a 2002 P180 Classic which has done way more than a 100,000kms. till date. Initially, before I got the P200, I thought of selling it off but then decided against it. Newer machines might have more power, smoothness and a 'n' number of supposedly better things (both technolgically and otherwise), but a classic will always remain so - A Classic!

@ Hussler : hardly maintained classics go for around 18K. Yours with all the new kit deserves 20K+. Quote 25-26K and you could get a final price around 24K max and as said earlier by need4torque 180 dtsi is available for 25K.

AS market rate 20k is ok.

Honestly, there is no fix price for any bike which ur going to purchase or sell in second hand.it depends on the buyer,if he is decided on single model what u own,or he has some plan about that specific bike.then u get what u quote.
if u sell ur bike to any second hand dealer u gonna get some where in between 15-18k only whatever ur bikes condition.

And what is the meaning of CLASSIC,just 4-6 year old bike is a classic.no we xbhpian only know or differentiate which pulsar is classic or dtsi for our convenience or ease to understand the bike model.don't bear that bike which is giving u problem just thinking this a classic bike,if u have no budget problem then keep this bike for ur son or grandchildren, unless sell it and get a new bike,in my opinion u should must have that kind of knowledge to maintain the bike which is going to be named as classic in future.there is much time left for pulsar to be the CLASSIC.For classic pulsar classic stands for only round head lamp.if we look at the Yamaha rx series then we know that what is the meaning of classic or how many years of survival in the market will give the name of classic.

P.S. i am also a owner of classic pulsar and dtsi model respectively.more then 125000 kms on the pulsar 180 classic and dtsi and stil gonig on and on.

Few Reasons I think it would be a worthwile for my grandchildrens

                1. Its 1st Made in and for India Bike from Bajaj
                2. Pulsar brought a new Cult into Indian biking scenario, people started thinking above 100 cc
                3. First 180cc bike in India
                4. It looks retro (more inline with name classic )
                5. Probably First electric start made in india motorcycle
                6. Probably first indian bike with disc brakes.

There might be many other things that others may pour in, but I feel 20k is not a very big investment if you can make to keep a machine which has good chances of getting fame of "Classic"

Seeing 220 FI, i would surely say pulsar 180cc(2001) is a classic

@viny: I don't know much about the other facts you have stated, but wasn't the CBZ laced with disc brake? And that was before the Classic Pulsar was into the limelight, ain't it?
                  :)

just wait till 2010 P220 is also named as India's first 200+ cc FI classic bike, cos at that time p220 ug1,ug2,ug3 and MG sir ki bike toh classic p220 dts-fi wali hai.uska maintenance bhi classic bike jitna hai.

You do have fair chance of getting around 15-20 k depending upon the condition of the bike, the only chance of you getting a better reslae value is that you end up finding a buyer how is relly keen on acquiring one.

True said Chinto. classic is just a notion that we have given to understand the models better, and about the rite price for your bike. its you, your need to sell, its the buyer and his urge to buy that would decide the bikes price.

let me give you a real example i had a HH Passion that was bought in 2002 had clocked around 22K KM's original clutch, brakes and all other stuff and every thing working fine and also had the so called fat tyres hehehe... when i wanted to sell it i was offered as low as 12-16K for the bike. but then some body wanted it and we got 21K and that was a offer that he made and we accepted it. so does that make my bike worth 12K or 15K....

i am sure you have some thing to think about now
