Here you go, take the NH-2 from New Delhi to Lucknow via Mathura, Agra and kanpur. The road is awesome, its a part of the Golden Quadilateral Project. I recently did this trip last week only but by my swift only, was able to keep speeds between 120-140kmph for long easily. The road also has 5 toll nakas, that come to total of Rs 200/- .

The whole road is 4 lane with a wide divider in between. At some places the road is six lane also. Traffic is scarce but is only found mainly at Agra. While coming through Kanpur , it would be beneficial to take the elevated highway that leads to Allahabad, it is 27km in length and by passes all the traffic of Kanpur city. At the end of the elevated road take a u-turn back to Ramadevi, below the same road. You will have to cover 3km more after taking the u-turn but would be able to cover 27km elevated road in 15mins easily. From Kanpur to Lucknow the road is little potholed at places till Unnao, but after that its again smooth sailing. Try leaving New Delhi around 6 am and do your first stop for breakfast at Mcdonald's at Refinery Nagar, Mathura right on the highway. The second stop can be made just before Etawah for lunch, where you can find a lot of good dhabas. And the last at Kanpur for a breather. There are five toll plazas enroute totalling Rs 200/-. I think that should suffice. |

thanks,
i think the nh2 route will be good enough, (any further suggestions will be better) although dont think, that will have to pay the tolls on a bike..... hope to make it soon, thanks again Last edited by umair; 02-15-2009 at 08:06 AM. |
