Help: Sprockets for Gladiator

Hey guys,

What does changing the sprockets in a bike exactly do?? How does it better performance?? Does it have a huge negative effect on efficiency?? How much would it cost??
My mech when asked to put a K&N told me that changing the sprockets would be a better option for performance.. I have a gladi guys... I know not a powerful bike in the first place to modify... But well i want to do watever possible to increase the performance of the bike as i cannot afford to buy any other bike now...

even i m looking for a sproket change in my unicorn.....

sproket can do following [gk only]:-

it will increase ur torque at low end = better acc.

or

it will do the same at top end = speed increases!!

Was jus goin to another thread on changing sprockets... n i ve pretty much gotta jist of what the whole process is...

So guys,
What would be an ideal sprocket change for a gladiator ss??... I am looking for top end speed and ease on the high speeds as i am looking to take my bike constantly on long rides... How much would sprockets cost??
