Hi Guys,
I just purchased a second hand bike.the transfer of the bike has been done on my name. Can anyone please advice what all papers we need or we get after transfer of the bike ( for example Noc,RC book etc ?? ) I got only 2 documents 1) NOC ( a small white slip having noc number and other details) 2) A duplicate RC book..the person who did the transfer told me that while purchase of the second hand bike orignal one is submitted to the RTO..and the duplicate one is issued. Transfer of the paper has been carried out at ANDHERI RTO Cheers Beruoist

No Way!
When the bike is transferred to your name, the only changes that are made to the RC book is the name and address of the new owner ie. you. The RTO does not keep a copy with them (just that the changes are made in their registers). In your case it could be that the previous owner lost the RC book and applied for a duplicate and when u asked for the original he made up a story that its submitted at the RTO and Blah blah. There is no problem riding a bike with a duplicate RC but the explainations given by the guy is False. 2) Also have the insuance transferred in your name. Most agents dont do this. First of all is the bike insured? Asking bcoz you havent mentioned anything. IF not check with the previous owner or get it insured. 3) check if the bike has a PUC certificate. If not get it done. ACC to me, you should have the following documents. 1) RC book (Original or Duplicate) 2) Insurance 3) NOC (Not sure) 4) PUC |
